Step 1
Fill a large bin or bucket with fresh water.
Step 2
Scoop or pour a small amount of paydirt into a classifier/sieve (a colander works just as effectively).
Step 3
Dip the sieve into the water and shake back and forth to "wash" the paydirt, exposing rocks & gemstones. Repeat with the remaining paydirt.
Step 4
Identify all of the gemstones you have just discovered. For optimal results screen your paydirt in sunlight.

I received a mining bucket (f I’m an unnamed place) for Christmas, and LOVED it, so I decided to see what was available on Amazon. Sluiceboy’s was recommended. While the bucket had some beautiful pieces, these bags were a lot more impressive. A lot more stones and Absolutely beautiful! I will definitely buy from them again. THANK YOU SLUICEBOY’S!! I got these as the main activity for my 8 yo sons bday in the park and was honestly nervous about whether he and the kids would actually like sifting through sand poured into a tray at this age. He LOVED it and truly felt like a lucky beginner. Huge smiles from my budding young geologist. Younger brother age 4 got crazy into it and we set up a gem washing station and had party favor bags to take their gems home in. The identification chart is super important, at least to me. Days later the kids are still admiring their gems and talking about what is what. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and beauty and how much joy kids can get from how cool the earth is.

Got this as a Christmas gift for my nephew and he absolutely loved it. Lots of gems/crystals of good size. My nephew had a fun time sifting through the sand and identifying the gems using the chart included.
