RV Refrigerator Usage Tips

  • First time using: When you receive it, please put it upright horizontally for 6 hrs before plugging it up. It is less efficient than a compressor refrigerator, which needs around 6~8 hrs to get cold at the first use. Please set the temperature at the lowest and plug it in 110 V and test if it is cold inside and heated on the back after 6~8 hrs. So it is with the 12 V. Please don't use 2 kinds of power supply at the same time. Please don't use house batteries or solar batteries when using DC 12V, it is recommended to use it on a car cigarette lighter. If there is one voltage not working, just tell us, and we will handle it for you immediately.
  • Installation Interval: Please keep VENTILATED when using GAS(we have the vent kit in our store). NEVER install gas appliances in unventilated places.
  • Super Quiet: This is a noiseless absorption refrigerator. No sounds heard doesn't mean it's not working.
  • Cooling time: It needs 6~8 h to cool from 90 ℉ to (32~50 ℉) in an empty state on electricity. If it is full of cold food, the time needed is 2~4 h. It's more efficient on propane and cools fast.
  • Placement angle: Please adjust the foot to make sure the fridge top(bottom) surface is horizontal when you use it. When slant angle ＞ 5°, the cooling unit may be blocked and stop cooling.
  • Trouble Shooting:

Heater failure-Replace heater.

Cooling unit blocked-

1. Put it upside down for 8 h. 2. Put it upright for 8 h. 3. Plug it up.

I liked the fact it had leveling legs. The disconnection of propane or electric supplies to power was ok. I had difficulty reading / seeing the red and blue lettering and highlighting around the controls at the bottom for power and thermostat. The, included pressure regulator with hose was convenient. The unit was going to be used in a camper van. Its size made for a lot of modifications to the original refrigerator opening.

So far, I've only used this on the 110v setting, and not tried it on 12v or propane yet, but on 110v, it get VERY cold, and makes no noise at all. I'm keeping it in my bedroom on the carpet and have no issues at all. It doesn't have a freezer, but if I want to freeze something, I just turn the control nob the the coldest setting and it'll freeze everything (which I found out by accident) half way keeps everything just below freezing in my 76° room.

Refridgerator was damaged and returned. I have never received the credit of$549.00.Reorder refridgerator and 2nd delivery was great.Still need the refund for the damaged refridgerator.

I bought this frig. for LPG use only to find there is no usefull information in the owners manual. I then contacted Smad customer support and was emailed the info to help me get the frig. going. This is a good deal overall....
