Although the name Papier Mâché is French, the method was not adopted in France until the 17th century. The technique was originally used in the Orient as far back as 200 BC.
Today, many paper mache items are created in the villages of the Philippines. For decades, Factory Direct Craft has purchased paper mache that is handcrafted by Philippine families. Hit the first order. Leg was broke. Box was fine. Not damage in shipping they obviously shipped it broken Sent it back. Got another one. Shipping box was fine. But the whole mount at the bottom was disconnected this time. They are high priced and are very cheaply made. Not Sturdy at all. Dont think they will hold up long. Won’t be purchasing this again. Sad because they are pretty. Just cheaply made. And too high priced.
