While I really needed a standoff, I ordered this because it was a hex design, but what came in the box was around standoff

these are 1/4 inch round not hex as listed so make sure you can use round instead of hex

JUST a 'spacer' or standoff is one thing - - - BUT - - - a machine screw gauge? Of course. . . just tap a 4-40 hole onto/into the imperial screw/nut gauge and mount one of these there. . . . along with a half inch or so counter-sunk machine screw - - - - An' VIOLA! - - - - - NOW, ya gotta gauge that is more broadly inclusive. The usual screw/nut gauges only go down to #6 fine ( 6-32 ).

Well, as other reviewers have posted, these are cylindrical, and not hex, 1/2 inch M-F aluminum stand-offs. If you want cylindrical, or don't care, these are perfectly fine and have a 4-40 thread, exactly as expected if the description said cylindrical. If you require hex, then these are the wrong product for you. Four stars for being good quality 1/2 inch 4-40 aluminum standoffs, would be 5 stars if the description were not inaccurate.

Confirming what others have said, it's round not hex. Knowing that, I ordered it anyway since I couldn’t find one in hex with the same dimensions and it will work for me. It is 1/2” M/F not including the female thread part. Threaded part is 3/16”. It is a 4-40 thread. Diameter is 1/2”. Material is aluminum. Good value. Seller, fix your info.

As indicated in the 1-star review, these are cylindrical. If you need hex, this is not your product. Doesn’t speak well for the seller that they allow this misrepresentation to persist.
