I love this Mug Warmer. It keeps my drinks HOT. There's an automatic timer in case you set your mug down and forget about it as life happens, it will shut off. I do wish the cord was longer but can't complain at the functionality level of this item.

This mug warmer keeps my coffee warm, but it does not keep it hot. This warmer does a great job of keeping my coffee lukewarm. Even when I use a small mug and only have it half full, it is still only lukewarm. This warmer does have a large surface area, which I really like. The surface diameter is 4 3/8", which means that this warmer is able to accommodate any of my mugs. There is a gravity switch built into the base of this mug. With the cord switch on, the mug will turn on only when when at least 13 ounces is applied to the warmer. I put this to the test, and mine in fact does turn on when a minimum of 13 ounces is placed on the warmer. This presents a problem: the directions suggest that you use a thin-walled mug, and my thin-walled mugs are light, they weigh just under 9 ounces. So when I get down to about a third of a cup of coffee, it is no longer heavy enough to actuate the gravity switch. So the warmer won't work at that point until I add more coffee. And if I use a heavier mug, the warmer struggles to keep the coffee warm. I like to drink a lot of coffee, so I prefer to use a larger mug. I don't have any problems with the gravity switch when I'm using one of my larger mugs. But I end up drinking coffee that never hot.
