Yes it works on carpet, and on the wooden floor, but the cat was terrified.Clearly a well made item, charged up with the usb, I liked the bird sound, but the primary audience would run out the room the minute I put it on!

This is the review of the "morhandisn Smart Interactive Cat Ball Toy"This is a ball, about 4cm in diameter, with colorful LEDs that rolls around and chirps. It has a "tail" made of rope that's attached to it and waves at the cat. The chirping is not very annoying. It seems to have a repeatable movement pattern that's not completely random, but the shape of the toy often makes it move in unexpected directions, which is nice. The pattern takes about a minute or two to play, at the end of which the ball will stop moving until it detects touch and starts the cycle again. It has two speeds, low and high. In the low speed it'll move slower and generally tends to keep itself within the area of a few yards. When put to high speed, it'll go all over the place. The rubber and plastic seem to be of high enough quality that I expect it to work for a while. The battery lasts quite long and can be changed with a "stupid"/low voltage USB-C charger. It probably won't charge with the fancier PD chargers though.Overall, my older cat continues to be interested in the toy. He enjoys watching it, and following it around. Sometimes, he'll also try to catch it. I'd recommend not to leave pets unattended with it, so that they don't eat the rope tail, which could be harmful.

My fur baby absolutely loves this toy! I also like that it keeps her busy.

I have three kitties - one of them doesn’t go near this toy and isn’t interested at all, and the other two will go and turn it on and really just watch it. I’ve had it a few weeks now and I’ve rarely seen them touch it other than to turn it on, but one of them in particular is obsessed with watching it. Even if it isn’t moving because it’s stuck under the edge of my shoe rack or somewhere else, she watches and watches and watches. If it stops, she turns it back on. If it dies or goes somewhere she can’t reach like under the couch, she gets agitated and will cry and scratch and do everything she can think of to try to get it back… until she forgets about it. She’ll forget about it for a couple of days, then the cycle begins again. So essentially, I have one cat who couldn’t care less about it, one who likes to watch it occasionally, and one who obsesses over it like it’s the latest hit TV show. The one who obsesses over it is my most obnoxious and sometimes destructive cat, so having this to entertain her is absolutely worth it to me - but I do have some notes. The first one is the price: as I write this review, the price is currently $11.99. I would say it’s worth that. But when I ordered it (and it did take about three weeks to get to me after ordering), the price was $19.99. That I do feel is a little high, when taking into account how simple the toy honestly is, and my other feedback: on hard floors the toy is so LOUD. You can hardly hear yourself think, so definitely forget about having any conversations or hearing your TV unless you’re willing to turn it up loud enough for your whole neighborhood to hear - again, to entertain my munchkin I can deal with it sometimes, but the chirping of the actual toy ends up being pointless as you can’t hear it over the toy itself rolling around. It does also die relatively quickly, but on the plus side it is sensitive enough that it turns on with a gentle pawing from one of my cats. And as I mentioned already, it entertains the munchkin. I definitely didn’t expect this toy to be perfect and definitely did expect it to be annoying, so while it fits those expectations, it greatly exceeded my expectations in terms of how much I thought my cats would like it. At the $11.99 price point or similar, I’d definitely recommend it!One final note is sort of a maintenance one: it picks up hairballs on the side. On my own I decided to try unscrewing the tiny screw to see if I could pull the plastic piece off to get the hairball in one go, and you can easily do that. It goes back on easily as well. I've been cleaning hairballs off it every few days. This doesn't bother me since it's so easily done without struggling or breaking the toy, but it might deter some others.

This is an absolutely phenomenal cat toy.I have... many of these because my cat will self-start playing and the automatic nature of these toys pairs well with that.Anyways, the build quality on this, by far, the best I have seen. It is solid enough to actually be tossed as a toy, and is nearly "gapless" when some of the others, on occasion, would get caught on their own tail... not here. Tail is tough- a rope that wont be chewed through. Nice whip action on it.The movement is very smooth, with over 2x torque vs any other one (bigger plastic ones, smaller feathered tail ones). The best thing about this, is the simplicity. Finally! It has and just needs just two, automatic, self-starting modes: low power and high power. It seems the big difference between the two is the amount of power applied to the motor resulting in less torque, resulting in less sharp movements. It is great for saving battery.Unlike the others, if this one doesn't detect that it is being played with, it will just flash until it shuts off. It does not roll around forever banging into things... it appears to have other ics inside vs the others that allow for this. A cats touch will start it up again, right away.It does make a small, mouse-like chirp, but it is so quiet I can hardly hear it over regular tv. It isnt a piercing sound either, its almost like this is yet another, well thought out design decision with regard to volume and what the cat hears. The light on it is non-intrusive vs the others that can light up large dark areas, it has its own action when it is stationary to try and get the cat going. This is one of the few things on Amazon that I would rate higher if I could. If you handed me this toy, and asked me how much I thought it cost, I would say at least 20 dollars as it has the quality to match. It is a well-engineered, well thought-out toy that has clearly listened to user feedback over its iterations.
