This is super well-made. Haven’t ordered my scope yet, but should work great.

At first glance I thought this was for a telescope, and while I can imagine scenarios where that might work, it's instead for a regular scope - one that does not have a separate eyepiece. (Don't buy this to attach to a telescope - it will likely not fit.)The assembly of this adapter felt great - the threads are metal and fit tightly and smoothly. The adjustable phone holder piece was also solid. It can be slid up and down the rail and twisted left to right depending on which of your (probably several) phone lenses you want to capture with, and when I put my phone in and tightened it down it fit tightly and solid.

The quality of this setup is plenty good. The aluminum housing is strong and well finished, the joints are tight and stiff, and once the adjustments are understood, it is not too difficult to line everything up to minimize parallax artifacts. The big problem for me is that there is no way to adjust the distance between the ocular lens and the phone lens. The portion of the housing that mates with the scope has a 1.75" inside diameter, large enough to fit most scopes except for those with protrusions on them (such as reticle illumination buttons). There is a sharp shoulder, beyond which the inside diameter is reduced to 1.5", too small for most eye pieces to pass thru. In practice, the distance between that shoulder and the camera lens constitutes a fixed eye relief, which is 3 inches. If you have a modern scope with a generous eye relief in this distance range, this setup will probably work for you, but if you have an older scope with a short and shallow eye relief, you would need to use the digital zoom function on your phone camera to produce an image, the quality of which will degrade rapidly, as it will not have very much light to work with.An adjustable eye relief would have solved this problem, though the price of such a setup would probably be significantly higher.

I ordered the Universal Mount for Smartphones to accommodate an eyepiece scope by Starboosa. This has plenty of joints for adjustments and I was easily able to fit it properly onto my phone. Small and compact, yet will allow for a lot more flexibility and photography options when paired with a scope of your choice. Quality materials, well made.

Works perfectly for taking photos through binoculars or scopes. Holds phone steady and is easy to adjust.
