I have been a fan of these RV plugs since they first came out, but the price has always kept me from making the switch. I recently had some issues with the 50a receptacle on my 5th wheel and decided to bite the bullet and purchase two of the 50a cord ends as well as a matching receptacle. The products are great but…When I received the two cord ends, it was very obvious that both were items that had been returned and resold - not new in the box as the description would have me believe. One was not even in a box but rather a zip lock type bag with small parts scattered everywhere. The other was in a box, but the box was designed for the combo kit and had the receptacle removed. I did decide to keep and use the items, but still felt cheated. If you are going to resell items that have been returned, please make sure the consumer knows that. I paid a premium price and expected a premium, unused and unopened product.

My original 50 amp smart plug failed with a burned connection from the weight of the 50 amp cord pulling down on the connector. Replacement plug was pretty easy to install with good directions. I supported my cable now so it is not pulling on the connection and so far all is good.

This plug is not cheap but you can’t put a price on safety and peace of mind. Easy to follow instructions and installation. I have changed both of my cords and trailer receptacle to Smart Plugs as I know several fellow campers who have had fried plugs, thank goodness they didn’t have a fire.

We have a 50 amp camper that already has the Smartplug set-up. Wanted a lighter 30 amp cable to use during winter, or when we would not need A/C, or at least not both A/C's.Thankfully this came with two strain relief ends. One for 50 amp size cable and one for smaller OD 30 amp cables. I still needed to add 3 layers of heat shrink tubing at the inner clamp so it would hold on the smaller OD cable. Also added three layers where the cable comes through the strain relief for proper seal against water intrusion.A simple 3" jumper to the other hot lead in the connector and this is the perfect lightweight cable when only 30 amp service is needed.

This item is newer to the RV market. Shop for the best price. So far I am very happy with it and if it performs as advertised very safe.

We picked up an Airstream with the new SmartPlug hookup, and wow, what a racket these cables are. Overpriced and dogbones are continually out of stock. I wanted a spare shore connection beyond the one that came with the rig, so I bought a standard 50-amp extension cord, cut the rig-side connection off, and spliced this in. Easy work to save almost $200 on a premade SmartPlug cord.
