I have used this for years in our business. I like the reinforced tab and the 1" size is perfect for our filing system.

Bought the 1 inch pocket. All I could find local was the 1 1/2 inch. They seem well made and you get a lot of them for the price.

This allows smaller items to be collected without falling out, as they would do with ordinary file folders.

These file jackets expand to 1" deep, just the right depth for the items I'm filing. They 're made of a heavy Manila 80 Lb card stock, and the only knock I have is that the glue along one side of the fold causes the fold to stick to the back of the jacket. To fix this you have to carefully run a finger down the inside of the file jacket, taking care not to break the glued fold. Otherwise, these file jackets are excellent for their intended purpose, and I'd buy 'em again.

Good quality, well made, the file jackets seem durable. But why do they cost so much? I'm knocking off one star for the high price.

I have been familiar with Smead products and their unsurpassed quality for years since leaving the military in 1964. Because of a recent car accident I have been inundated with incoming material from the Veteran's Administration; their doctors, outside physicians, physical therapists, physical medicine, attorneys etc. In such cases there is always the sundry associated reviews, and informational items among other material. Being a former practicing PA too; I find it is necessary to maintain watch over my care with updated information coming in all the time and with knowledge of full prescribing information on any medication being offered. Busy physicians in a specialty and other practice often do not have a command of the full spectrum of issues which I found better served with full knowledge of my care. These Smead files permit placing critical material in order and containing a large amount of paper. They are simply the best. Thanks.

I've used many standard 'open folder' style folders, this 'envelope' style is sure a wonderful option for certain applications where one just doesn't want little slips of paper to fall out, or one doesn't want to reveal the entire folder contents at a meeting.Even, yes, accessing folder contents, outdoors, on a windy day, or to avoid getting bumped and dropping contents, the extra safety of the envelope style is worth it to me.The expandable pocket is sometimes easier for children to use, as well as those with diminished fine finger grip ability. The pocket opens wider, easier for some folks to sort through, grasp, and retrieve just what's wanted. Also purchased, and am just as happy with, the "non-expansion" style of this folder. This "expansion" style offers an important feature to me; obviously when needing a folder to contain more than a few-several pages. The ability of this folder to expand, as needed, is needed and much appreciated in my world.I'll still use the 'open folder' style folders in many cases.I'll use this expandable envelope style more often than 'open folder'.Will still keep both styles on hand!Good quality, nice "grab" access notch, plenty of room to add a label, or write your own label, good size.
