I like that these smoke alarms dont need to have the batteries changed all the time. They are very easy to install and they give me peace of mind to have smoke detectors with such long battery life.

These compact smoke detectors offer a convenient 10-year battery life, eliminating the need for frequent battery replacements. Installation is straightforward with mounting screws or adhesive pads. Before mounting, the internal ON/OFF switch must be activated using a small probe, and regular testing with the TEST button is advised.Testing confirmed the alarm's loud and clear signal, and a HUSH button is available for silencing false alarms. The design is nice and discrete and much smaller than smoke alarms I've had in the past. No issues with false alarms yet, good build quality and a great value for added safety.

I was happy to see that these smoke alarms are displayed mounted horizontally, i.e. flush against the ceiling, rather than sideways/vertically. For years I have had my smoke alarms stuck on the wall and they're somewhat of an eyesore. These can be stuck up in the corner of your kitchen ceiling, or whatever room you're planning to use them in. Mine are placed atop the valance over the kitchen window, and in the living room. I wanted to spare myself the trouble of having to apply the adhesive and then, when it comes time to paint, the hassle of removing the sticky stuff. (You see? I'm always thinking ahead. Even years ahead. Someone save me!)Anyway, best of all is the ten year life span. I mean, how cool is that? I have a reminder set on my office computer and in my planner to examine the smoke alarms and fire extinguishers quarterly. I guess since these will be around for such a long time, I will also have to set a reminder to dust them. (heh heh)Otherwise, they look nice enough and they feel like they are well-made. The signal was loud and clear when I tested them. And I had no problem figuring out the set-up and activation. It's been made pretty easy. Anyone can do it.

Ordered these to replace some older units. Comes as a pack of two. But they are really small. Had to texture the area around the old detector and drill new screw holes. Other than that they went up just fine. Only been up a week so far. Will update later if any issues arise.

Seems to be good quality and works well so far. The sound is very loud and hopefully it works if there ever is a fire.

You get 2 units with mounting screws or double-sided adhesive pads. My experience with adhesive pads is that if you have to move it – it will also peel off the paint and are not reusable. So, I prefer using the screws – easy to patch the holes later if you decide to move it. The Owner’s Manual gives lots of safety advise as well as location where it is best used and probably should not be used. The back plate has two holes for the screws and twists off for installation. The ON/OFF switch is inside, and you will need a small probe to flip the switch to ON – must do before installation. The battery is not replaceable – but with a 10-year advertised life, not an issue. However, there is no way to test that claim except to wait. I recommend using the TEST button once every 3 months – what I do with my other battery-powered smoke detectors. They recommend not using these detectors in kitchens (cooking vapors), bathrooms (water vapor will trigger it), near high air flow (heater vent air flow might dilute vapors or trigger an alarm) or in garages (exhaust or other vapors).I tested it by placing it on the mantel above our fireplace and starting a small fire with the flue closed – BEEP BEEP BEEP. Success. You can also press a TEST button to check the battery and function. The sound is acceptably loud. The units have a HUSH button (same as the TEST button) to silence it in the event of a known triggering – such as over cooking something resulting in smoke.

__Some of our current smoke detectors is a bit dated, they still test "OK". The "Runidur Smoke Detector, Built-in 10-Year Battery Photoelectric Smoke Fire Alarm for Home with LED Indicator & Silence Button, 1 Pack_10-Year Product Life: The smoke alarm has 10-year 3V battery. This smoke alarm can be used for ten years with the battery build in(Non-replaceable)_CR123 lithium batteries." will help some. According to the included instruction you use the tiny needle-liked much the same as the needle use to eject the sim card, memory card tray from your smart phone- to turn on/off the alarm. It is proving harder than on the paper. There are no control since the thing is too small. Instead we used a small screw drive to turn it on/ off and also use it to lock/ unlock the back plate as it provided a better leverage. After turn it on we tested the alarm outside, it do sound loud. Per included instruction and advertised the battery suppose to last about 10 year, for us we are paring it with another type of smoke/ CO2 detector/ alarm. We preferred never to hear the alarm, but with two difference type of alarm it'll give us a better chance. Since the weight of the smoke detector is relatively small we used two side tape to adhere to the walls. We also marked the front of the detector with direction to lock/ unlock, the markings on both the plate and the detector, where you should line up before start turning is also marked. Why? after 1 week/ month all this information will be redundancy and when you need to access the device the tiny information and marking will not readily available or even readable.__

I only bought these because the city inspector insisted that I have one smoke detector in each bedroom. I had three smoke detectors upstairs and only one of these went off at 5 in the morning so I am confident that it malfunctioned. I turned off the smoke detector and went back to bed. Ten minutes later the same smoke detector malfunctioned again. I took the smoke detector down and when I went to take the holder off of the wall as carefully as I could the tape provided with the smoke detector tore off all of the paint and part of the wallboard. Would not recommend.
