An outstanding portable fire pit. Burns evenly and thoroughly, leaving only ash. The adjustable height rack is very good. Everything packs easily and flat into the sturdy canvas carry bag. This sucker is heavy, so forget about backpacking it. Great for car camping, though. Other campers have expressed admiration of this piece of gear. No regrets on this purchase.

Snow Peak’s Takibi fireplace grill is a beautifully designed grill. We had wanted one forever. Finally decided it was perfect got our Airstream Interstate and camping lifestyle. It’s not light. But neither is the Airstream! It’s well constructed of Stainless Steel and looks and feels like it’ll last a Century. It’s perfect for cooking or just burning MAGA hats you find out in the world! Smaller MAGA banners will fit too once you get a good fire going. Let’s agree to disagree! You can have your hats and I can have the perfect fireplace to incinerate them!

Literally just got it and have just opened the box, I'm so excited to use this today. I have been eyeing this for quite a while, but finally got enough money to buy it. The Snow Peak Takibi fire and Grill is amazing. It is super nice, solid, stable and well constructed. The kit comes with a base plate, the fire pit (pack and carry fireplace), grill bridge, grill net and carrying case. All expertly packed in a nice box as well. Lots of securely fixed cardboard so nothing shifted or moved during shipping.I will say this thing is heavy, but solid. I am going to be using it mostly for the grill, but on cold nights, it will turn into a fire pit/place in a snap. I also bought the heavy cast iron plate that raises the heat source up so it is a more efficient grill and doesn't use too much charcoal or firewood and makes them level. I'm really impressed with it literally out of the box.The base plate is solid and only has four slots where the fire pit/place's legs will sit into. The fire pit itself is like metal origami, as it just opens and it's ready for use. The bridge's legs just fold 180 degrees and they are ready to use as well. It has three levels or heights so you can adjust the distance from he heat source. Lastly the grill is super heavy duty stainless steel woven surface, with two handles on the sides. If you are interested in where things are made here's a breakdown: base plate, unknown country of manufacture, not marked anywhere on the it, and the packaging didn't say either. The actual grill is made in Japan. Bridge is made in Korea. Grill is made in Japan and the carry case is made in China. This thing is heavy, so probably not something you want to go hiking with, unless you are looking for a work out. But probably most useful as a base case cooker or fire pit as intended. But that being said, I think this is one of those things that you will have for a very long time that you might pass down to someone years from now. It's just so well made. The welds are nice, even and well spaced. I really love the heft of the grill and the industrial wires they used.Once the pit is set into the base plates slots, it is rock solid. I do believe you might even be able to move by just lifting the base plate. Looks pretty easy to clean as well. Everything comes apart for easy clean up. I also love the bag/carrying case, super thick canvas with nice straps all nicely sewn. Also like how they designed it to fit on the diagonal instead of just square. All in all I'm super impressed and for now, this is money well spent.

We bought the large fire pit with grill. The box the gear arrived in was sturdy and protected the substantial contents well from shifting and scratching. The fire pit and grill assemble very quickly, and disassemble equally quickly. The provided bag hold the contents securely while transporting. There are a couple of velcro straps that keep the parts inside the bag.I was amazed at the quality of construction. The fire pit is sturdier than it looks in pictures. The grill is a very solid mesh. We had no problems getting fires going quickly. The fire pit holds a load of firewood well. All that was left after grilling yummy meals, s'mores, and a fire was white ash. Our first long weekend of car camping with this was worth the expenditure. We enjoy a fire pit in our back yard, too. But we didn't want some large item taking up space (especially in the winter). The fact that this folds up flat is a bonus - we can fold it up, and put it away without it taking up space. We can easily deploy it in our back yard, wherever, and enjoy a fire. So this tool serves multiple purposes for our family.[Update 17 May 2020]We continue to use and enjoy our fire pit and grill. We added the coal bed, and it really helps with grilling. The unit has held up well through numerous camping trips and backyard adventures. It's worked well with a tripod and dutch over (if the tripod is tall enough). The only thing that I haven't liked is that the grill mesh has rusted a bit. I use a wire brush to get any junk off it (it cleans well enough). We do not use water nor have let the unit linger outside beyond the time we use it. Not sure if anyone else has rust issues with the mesh grill.
