The new SOF Tourniquet is built upon its original ruggedness and durability, which was the result of an exhaustive 24-month research initiative compiling end-user research and laboratory studies. The tourniquet is comprised of high-strength, lightweight alloy components. Its design allows the tourniquet to slide over a limb or, if the limb is trapped, the tourniquet can be rapidly disconnected and reconnected around the limb without rethreading the strap. This tourniquet is well built. The clip to release the strap and get it around a limb easier than other types of tourniquets is a good feature. It seems to be a sturdier device than many others I’ve carried and trained with.

LOVE this tourniquet. It’s my favorite to carry in my personal off duty med bag due its durability. You can practice with it and it doesn’t look the worse for wear. The design and function are excellent. If you practice too much with CAT tourniquets, they start to look a bit ragged. We do carry CAT’s on the ambulance though.
