I bought one of these for my slate raised fireplace hearth and for my daughter who has a brick hearth. They are attractive, customizable to fit various hearths and enormously protective for toddlers and youngsters in living rooms or family rooms. My grandson uses the surface for his cars and trucks and I have peace of mind knowing no one is going to suffer a head injury falling against my fireplace. Do not recommend especially if you have kids that like to pick at the things. The stick was not sticking at all. The quality is like pool noodle. For the pricing I paid this was not worth it.

We loved this at first. Kept our little one safe from cracking his head on the brick now that he’s mobile. However, it didn’t really stick in place well, we have a movable metal screen for our fire place so we set that on top of it to try to use some weight to help it stick in place but that didn’t work either. We did clean off the bricks before applying the cover as well to ensure good adhesion. We have a wood burning fireplace and this is definitely not heat resistant by any means. The edges along the inside where the fire side is have all curled and shrunk and it’s still a good 6 inches away from the inside of the fireplace where the fires actually are. We’re going to have to look into something else now because now it no longer fits properly and still hasn’t stayed stuck to the brick. This was way too expensive for it to have these issues.

I will admit this was not exactly what I expected when I opened the box. I was concerned it would not work right with the shape and type of surface of my fireplace. My baby loves to pull up on the fireplace and we aren’t able to block it off. I was concerned he would put bites in the foam or be able to make it slide off. I was wrong! It’s very durable foam, and the adhesive is very strong. It’s easy to cut to fit, and the tools are included—including a straight edge. They even include information on how to request additional adhesive pads if needed. I am pleasantly surprised, and impressed with the customer service. I would buy again.

We received this product and were skeptical at first. It seemed like a lot of money. The product was easy to install and came with the tools to do so. It also looks better than the blanket we were using. We have not "anchored" it to the hearth because the pad is not fire resistant. When we start fires we are taking the pad off because it is not fire resistant. The pad being on while fires are lit kind of defeats the purpose of the brick hearth. We would give it a 5 star if it was fire resistant and could leave it on all the time.
