My mom requested a fountain for her birdbath for her birthday. She loves birds and has multiple feeders up and a birdbath, and thought a fountain would be neat. It’s worked really well! Just today she watched a small flock of 5 houses finches flitting around and taking turns landing on the birdbath and getting drinks, and one even took the opportunity to take a bath. Having a fountain has really attracted more birds.It was easy to set up, and there are several nozzles so you can pick what kind of fountain you want. It really does work best in full sun, it doesn’t really do anything in full shade. The stream can go really high when in the sun, to the point that water can splash outside the fountain if the birdbath is on the smaller side. My mom puts about a gallon of water a day in it to keep it going. This seems to be all the maintenance it requires. Highly recommend if you love watching birds!

I like this solar fountain, I use it in a bird bath to add some ambiance sound in our backyard and it attracts the birds and even bees drink from it. This one floats around though and often goes to one side because of the wind (even with the clear stick things). They make them now with build it "wings" or "legs" so it stays in the center. This also helps the bees so they don't drown. There are several different attachments to create different effects.It sometimes doesn't work when the full sun is on it. It goes on and off like it's confused and it annoys me. I wish it worked consistently with the full sun.

Make sure when you're buying a birdbath or whatever you're using it for that there's plenty of room because the water is really high and will splash out. I got mine for a 11 inch birdbath and the water just shoot it right out. And it only runs when the sun is hitting it so after the sun goes away, it's done for the day.

I took one star off because the foam piece that is attached to the solar panel's underside came unglued in one day.The fountain works really well in direct sunlight. So well in fact, I had to take the little disk off the top of the spray attachment because the water was spraying outside of the dish! I keep a 16" round shallow dish on the ground for frogs, chipmunks, and other ground critters. I placed the fountain in the middle, and there is still room around it for birds or frogs to hop in for a soak.The panels don't really hold a charge though, so you won't get much water movement on a cloudy day.
