I live in the Dominican Republic and we just had one of the wettest rainy seasons on record. Catastrophic flooding and rain every day. The mosquitos are intense. They were so thick that the country ran out of bug spray, so I decided to buy this.I placed it with the solar panel facing south and it tends to stay on all night and all day, and you hear it murdering pests all day long. Its a good sound when you hate the mosquitos as much as I do.It said that it would clear up to a half mile, which isn't exactly true as I live in a rural area with lots of vegetation but it cut them down so much you could be outside in the evening without getting a bite. Inside the house is another story, but outside is very pleasant. I thought it stopped working this week and panicked--the mosquitos were noticeably worse everywhere. Clouds of them. But someone had just turned it off. Clouds are gone.I recommend this for sure.

I’m seriously impressed with this solar bug zapper! We’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it has made a noticeable difference in our backyard. The solar panel charges well even on cloudy days, and the light is powerful enough to attract and eliminate mosquitoes and flies quickly.What I love most is that it’s completely wireless, so we can move it around easily—perfect for camping or placing it in different areas of the yard. The 10FT extension cord is a great bonus when needed. It’s built solid, easy to use, and even has a sensor panel that makes it energy efficient.No more bug sprays or citronella candles—this zapper just works. Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys outdoor time without the buzz and bites!

Initially, it worked well but after the 30-day return period had expired, it stopped working. The solar panel no longer charged the unit and the day/night sensor setting stopped working as well. Amazon asked me to contact the seller for assistance. The seller only offered a 50% refund because "They could not resell it since it was broken." Eventually, Amazon stepped up and provided a full refund. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere for a different product.

Works well and is much needed here in Houston to help with the massive amounts of mosquitos we have. Easy to install and works well. My only complaint is that is started arcing on one spot and will occasionally continue zapping rapidly for pretty long periods of time. It might be fixable, but I haven't had the chance to work on it.

There were plenty of lower priced bug zappers on Amazon, but this one looked like it was well built--and it is. This one may seem a bit more expensive on the onset, but it is of a very good quality and has a solid feel. It has a large solar panel on top to give it plenty of juice all night long to get the job done. The zapping surface area is also much larger than those small ones that look like wimpy torch lights. This thing has a great glow and spends all night zapping away at pesky insects. You have two options to either hang it on a provided chain or stand it up on a provided garden spike type stand. We live in a windy area, so chose the latter option.Our primary reason for getting this Bug Zapper was because we live in the south and our open front porch is continually inundated with a swarm of midges, mosquitos and other irritating pests during the hot summer. When night time hits, and the front lights go on, these bugs are attracted to our outdoor lighting and just sit all over the porch. We needed something that was going to attract them AND get rid of them. This Bug Zapper does the job all long night long. Best of all, it's solar powered so it does not require a electrical source nearby. As long as you have sun available, this thing is going to zap the bugs dead. We have seen a greatly reduced number of bugs inhabiting our porch pretty much immediately after having installed this zapper. Gets the job done effectively.

And I've owned quite a few over the years. This has been an unreasonably wet summer and that's perfect weather for these critters to procreate. We've been getting annoyed, harassed, and bit by so many bugs we couldn't enjoy even sitting in the screened in porch area of our yard. This is the best zapper. It was a breeze to install; goes on automatically I don't have to think about it; and does a great job. I'd attach a pic of last night's kills but it's a bit disgusting. Overall, I highly recommend this zapper! It's worth the price and it's made a huge difference in our being able to enjoy these summer nights.

Definitely attracts and kills bugs and the auto on/off is great. to make even better to kill more mosquitoes add a Octenol lure on the front.

I love the solar panel and also how a regular charging plug comes with it. Using the solar panel alone seems to store/provide enough energy for it for the whole day, but I like having the option to plug in if needed.So far, it has been very quiet. I didn’t think it was working at first since I didn’t hear anything, but then as I watched more closely, I noticed little mosquitoes getting drawn in and fried silently.I LOVE how the grates pop off for easy cleaning. The instruction manual doesn’t mention this but definitely should. I was cleaning it through the grates at first until my son explored and figured out that they pop right off for cleaning.It is lightweight, so it’s easy to move around, especially since you don’t have to unplug/plug in when moving it. The ground stakes and the chain hanger can be taken off and put back on depending on where/how you need it at the moment.I definitely recommend and will purchase another one of these if I find I need another.
