If you need solar hot water, this is THE simple controller with lots of modes and output control for you. For both heating or cooling, this differential controller was easy to wire up, easy to program and configure, provides 2 digital temperature displays, one for each location using supplied NTC type 10k sensors and very clear, concise directions!Accuracy lines up closely with other measurements and each sensor can be calibrated separately.I am using mine to control a drain-back solar hot water loop to a hot tub, then a second simpler unit to divert heat into my sauna floor when the hot tub is up to temp.For pool, hot tub, greenhouse or attic, this temperature controller seems to be a great unit with a lot of well thought out details that make it ideal for systems requiring a differential controller.

This thing is pretty cool. I used it to actuate a 3 way pool valve for solar. I bought different thermocouples that are direct immersion. Reason was they only need a small hole in the pvc plumbing and are held in place with a hose clamp. One sensor monitors the pool temp while the other solar panel temp. The valve only opens if the solar is warmer than the pool. Unless you are crafty and patient, just buy the hayward solar control kit. The intructions are pretty bad.
