I have a love / hate relationship with these rings. I've been using them for 10 years, so I've learned to live with and appreciate them.Love: Conceptually, they are great. They clip together with magnets and are much easier to manage than the big blue bubble wrap covers. They do a great job of keeping the water warm. I have a 22,000 gal pool and 9 rings are enough to keep it warm. Deflated, they store easily over the winter, just keep the valves open to allow them to fully dry. They hardly affect the motion of the pool creeper suction hose so it still keeps the pool clean. Some people have a hard time inflating them. If you inflate too much, they'll kink up on one side. The secret is to inflate slowly with a tire inflator and stop before you think you should stop. Even with less air, they work great.Hate: They're expensive, especially compared to the bubble wrap blankets. And the included patch kit is worthless. Also, they'll tend to lose air after a while. That's not really a problem because they still work great even if they lose some air. The worst part is that they're good for 2-3 seasons at best before starting to turn brown from UV exposure. They eventually lose their flexibility and crack, which is when it's time to toss them and get new ones. But, they sure extend the swimming season!

When I ordered these, I looked and looked and could not find a size. They are only 5 ft in diameter. It might cover a small kiddie pool. Sure didn’t do anything for our pool. What a waste of money.

Works very well to keep inground pool water warm during the winter in Florida, although not warm enough for me to go swimming. Keeps the temperature at least 20°-30° above outdoor temperature, as long as it's sunny.

Our pool is warm and so much cleaner than when we used to use a 12x24 solar cover. Never going back to one of those. They are easy to take in and out of the pool. Storing them out of the sun is a bit tricky, but we have managed. For me they are worth it.

The rings are pretty simple to unpack and inflate properly. Unfortunately they don’t work very well. We are approved to return them but the return approval states there will be a 20% restocking fee, 50% if not in new condition, for non defective items. They call it buyers remorse. I suppose that’s accurate in that we are remorseful for purchasing a product to increase the temperature of our pool water and reduce evaporation when in fact the product doesn’t actually do either of those things. If the description says returnable read the ultra fine print because chances are you’ll want to return them after you too find that they don’t work, are a hassle to remove for swimming and are a pain to store while swimming. Not worth my hard earned money, that’s for sure

I dont usually write reviews, but thought I'd share my experience with these. My summary would be as follows (with more details below that):Pros:- They warm the pool quite quickly- They dont blow away very easily- They do help to reduce evaporationCons:- They trap dirt and leaves, and as others have mentioned, stop the skimmer from working properly- If you have a large pool, the number you need to have make it very time consuming to remove and replace each time you want to swim- The packaging process means that a large % of rings dont stay inflated, as the air plugs get squashed and so dont form a good seal & keep the air in. Probably 25% of the ones we ordered were faulty although the vendor was quick to send replacementsMore Details:On the whole these are fine and do exactly what they intend - the heat the pool 6-8F on a sunny day and they help cut down on evaporation. We have a large in-ground pool (40ft x 20ft) so I appreciate that we may be an exception, but the number we needed (~30) means that it takes 15-20 mins to remove all of them (making sure to drain all the water out of the anchor sections) before you can swim. Similar times to put them all back in means it very quickly becomes a flaff and we more often than not dont bother putting them back in, as we use the pool almost every day. As a result, to an extent you loose the benefits of buying them in the first place. If you have a smallish pool, these would be great. For larger pools (I would suggest anything more than 400sq ft) and you'll be better off with a traditional pool cover as the cost works out to be about the same, but much more convenient.

The Solar ring assisted in heating the pool, it took a couple days of sunshine, but made a difference. I will be monitoring as the summer goes on, so I can see how much the temperature of the water improves. I do wish it was a bit wider. Easy to put on and remove.

First I will say how much we really like these! We had a bubble pool cover before and it was very difficult to use. We followed the directions, didn't over inflate these, and find them pretty easy to use and are keeping our pool warmer! We turned on our heater and placed these in the pool. We heated the pool to 84 degrees and turned off the heater. These have kept the pool at a pretty consistent 82! We stack them in the pool onto each other, which is not recommended by the manufacturer, but, it's easier for us. We just leave them floating in a pile. If we have a crowd, we hang them over a rounded top wall.
