We got this as well as another brand in preparation for goats this year and currently use it for our giant flock of chickens. It was fairly easy to put together, though it has some sharp edges, and everything went together tightly. It seems very durable and sturdy with how wide the legs are, so I'd say it checks all the boxes! Will update with any issues!

Ill start off with what I like about this trough and that is the base of it is well made and all of the aluminum work was well done. I also very much like the brace on top of the trough but it also brings up and issue that I will get to later. Now I will get to what I did not like about this trough which is one thing. I wish the legs were mounted in a stronger way all it took was my goat rubbing is head on the side of it once and he ended up slightly bending the legs of the trough . Now something else I do feel worth mentioning is that while I do like that brace that is on top of this trough it does allow birds to perch on its which allows them to go to the bathroom in the trough . But overall I really do like this trough the aluminum used for the base is pretty sturdy and its been great for my animal's

I have many rescued cats. I was just feeding them on the side walk, but the ants were all over the cat food. Not only that, it is not easy to scoop up the left over. I got this trough to solve the aforementioned problems. Initially, the car didn't like the trough. They would hiss at each other. After a few days, they got along with each other even better than before. A hierarchy has emerged. That was unexpected, and entire different story can be written about that. Now, there is not ants around the car food, no leftover to attract opossum and racoons, and less waste. This trough is working better than expected. It is easy to clean, easy to move around, and it is very durable. It is definitely a five stars product.

2 major things with this trough.1. PRICE $$2. SHARP EDGESThe product was well packaged and simple to assemble. It comes with gloves apparently to not cut your hands while putting it together. Should come with sand paper!!!I will be sanding this before using itKeeping 4 stars because this is a sturdy galvanized trough with a decent design for small animals.

I’m using these with medium to large sheep, but mostly yearling rams. The feeder was easy to assemble. Well packaged, and the instructions were clear. I assembled it in around 20 minutes. It’s fairly hefty and wide so it’s not pushed around. I was surprised it was so low, but t bc at makes sense when you need a stable feeder.I appreciate that it came with gloves. The pole piece was a bit sharp on the ends. This isn’t exposed when assembled- so no big deal long-term. I also like the design more than I expected. Ram lambs are known to be a little rambunctious (pun intended) so the low profile really helps keep it on the ground. I’d like some sort of drain but not sure how you’d do that. This will power wash well, but bird droppings and what not settle to the bottom. I’m not a huge fan of working ram pens alone so it’s a hassle for our system, but that may not be for everyone.I’ll update the review in a few months, but so far we’ve really liked it.

This feeder is long and roomy so animals could comfortably eat from both side without much fighting over a spot to get their feed. When it is fool of feed it is really heavy and not that easy to carry around so I am not sure i would call it "portable", but technically it can be moved using a handle at the top relatively easy if its completely empty. The major issue of it is its very expensive price so for so much money I expected better attention to details with no welding or galvanized coating and scratching issues. It will work even the way it is, but it will not last as long as it should with those issues for such high priced item.

This truly is a heavyweight feeder, and it is "portable" only with some effort. I certainly don't plan on moving It very often. Its weight and the A-frame legs that are widely placed make it very stable and hard for animals to turn over. I plan to use it in a small pen as a creep feeder where up to 12 goat kids will eat out of both sides. It will hold plenty of feed and I'd be amazed if they were able to push it over. I recommend this feeder.

I seen complaints in the reviews about the inside corners so I asked my husband who is a professional welder for rough country and he said it's just the welds and should cause issues. I tried this as a feeder for my kids goats (they are 5 weeks up to 10 weeks) the all tried to get in it for the feed so i switched it to water and used smaller hanging feeders. With the weight of the water this is no longer movable but I didn't plan to move it anyway. In the picture the water looks uneven but that's because of the ground, not the trough. I have 2 hangable galvanized steel troughs from this company and I'm very happy with this one and the other 2. I love that all my babies can get water at the same time, and even with some of them laying in the trough when it had food everyone still had space. Not sure how easy it will be to clean yet but it seems like it would be much easier than plastic buckets.
