I like that this provides a sturdy base for an umbrella without being a heavy piece of iron. When filled with sand it will be quite heavy but you can remove the two sandbags and fold the other pieces for storage. The heaviest thing is the sand bags but because it splits the weight between two of them they should be manageable. Looking forward to using this this summer for a spot of shade when it gets hot. Will amend the review after I get this set up if there are any issues. It's warming up here so decided to dig this out and put it together. The listing said the product is steel and oxford cloth, for the sandbags and cover. Not so! The cross pieces for the base support and the shaft to put the umbrella in are indeed steel but the frame for the sandbags is just plastic. Not pleased! I ordered this because I thought it was mostly steel. I will go ahead and put this together and see if it works well. Knocking this down to 3 stars from my original 5.

Exactly as advertised. Easy to fill with sand and the handles help with moving. Perfect for windy days!

I was tired of dealing with flimsy stands that tip over at the slightest gust of wind and needed something solid that wouldn’t require constant adjustments or makeshift solutions like stacking bricks on top. After browsing through different options I liked the design of this one - the idea of using a fillable sandbag for weight instead of a bulky metal base seemed like a smart way to add stability without making storage a nightmare. The build quality is good. The base consists of a sturdy steel cross-frame and a heavy-duty Oxford fabric bag designed to hold up to 88 lbs of sand. It also includes three different-sized reducer rings to fit various umbrella pole diameters, which was a nice touch since I wasn’t sure if it would fit my existing umbrella. Assembly was straightforward, and even though the base felt surprisingly stable before I added the sand, filling it up made all the difference. The zipper on the bag is well-designed to prevent leaks, and once everything was secured, my umbrella felt rock solid. Using this base has been a completely different experience compared to my old ones. It holds up exceptionally well even on windy days, something I was skeptical about at first. I’ve tested it through strong gusts, and my umbrella hasn’t budged. I appreciate the small but thoughtful details, like the fastening hooks that keep the cover securely attached, making it look neat instead of like a random weight thrown onto the base. The design also makes it easier to store when not in use - I just empty the sand, and it folds down without taking up much space. The only minor drawback is that the frame for the sandbag isn’t entirely steel as I initially expected. Some parts are plastic, which raises questions about long-term durability, though so far, it has held up well. The sandbag opening could also be slightly wider to make filling it less of a hassle, but that’s a small inconvenience compared to how effective it is once set up. But overall, this umbrella base turned out to be a fantastic purchase. It’s stable, well-designed, and a much better alternative to bulky, traditional umbrella stands. If you need a reliable solution to keep your umbrella upright without resorting to DIY fixes, this one is for you.Bottom line:This umbrella base with a fillable sandbag offers excellent stability without the bulk of traditional metal stands. The sturdy steel cross-frame, heavy-duty Oxford fabric bag (holds up to 88 lbs of sand), and included reducer rings make it versatile and secure. Assembly is simple, and once filled, it holds up impressively even in strong winds. Thoughtful design touches like fastening hooks and a leak-resistant zipper add convenience. Minor downsides include some plastic parts and a slightly narrow sandbag opening, but overall, it’s a solid, space-saving solution for keeping your umbrella steady. 5 stars for sure, highly recommended.Pros:1. Very stable even in strong winds when filled with sand.2. Compact and easy to store when emptied.3. Fits different umbrella pole sizes with included reducer rings.4. Simple and quick assembly.5. Secure fastening hooks and leak-resistant zipper.Cons:1. Some parts of the frame are plastic, not all steel.2. Sandbag opening is narrow and can be difficult to fill.

I have purchased many items by Songmics and all are quality products. Their designs and materials used are easy to fit together and sturdy. This umbrella base (SONGMICS Umbrella Base, Square Patio Umbrella Stand, Sand Fillable Bag 88 lb, for 5-10 ft Umbrellas, Heavy-Duty, for Poles of Different Diameters, Outdoor Beach Lawn, Black UGUB0042B01), is no different. It was very easy to assemble and everything fit as it should. What occurs to me as I'm assembling this umbrella base is that they have put a lot of thought into the design for the end user. I love the fact that sand bags inside are two so it isn't crazy heavy to move around if it was just one piece. Everything was packed well and nothing was scratched or dented or ripped, it's perfect.I'm going to build a base with wheels to set this unit on top of so I can move it easily around. The hardest thing was hauling the bags of sand from the store. This thing is great and my umbrella fits inside. We are going to get a lot of use from it this summer, I'm so glad I was able to get it to try out.

I got this primarily b/c of how it looks vs our old round, white base. This one looks more elegant. Assembly and fill isn't hard. I think it's about the same weight as our old one. The older one had a handle that made moving easier....this one not so much. But as you an see from the other reviews, it's a great option if you want to add some elegance to your deck umbrella set up.

Can be a little messy to set up but it will get the job done! Affordable base for your umbrella for the upcoming summer sun and you don’t have to worry about the base tipping over.

This umbrella base puzzled me, but I was intrigued at the same time! We use a lot of large umbrellas because we live in a neighborhood where the homes are really close together, only separated by concrete walls. The neighbors behind us like to stare in our house (we are hot and interesting people) but still...it’s really annoying and weird. So the solution we found is: put umbrellas up so they can’t see us hehe. It works, by the way!To assemble the base, you just need some basic tools and some sand for filling. It’s adjustable, which is what I was concerned with - we have a lot of umbrellas of various sizes and no two are alike. It’s stayed up so far, even in 35+ MPH winds! I can’t wait to see how it does through monsoon season here in the desert. Very happy with this and it prevents those heartbreaking umbrella drops in sudden wind storms.
