First one lasted 24 years and only the buzzer died at about 22 years. But clock, radio and radio alarm clock still work in my old one. I bought a replacement for the buzzer but keeping old one as a clock.It is LOUD. I have severe to profound hearing loss in both ears and wear hearing aids, except at night. The buzzer alarm wakes me up. A godsend. I can hear the buzzer if it's on the night table next to my bed. Hope the new one lasts as long. If so, I'll die before it does!My only complaint is the cord. It is thick and needs to have a rotating joint where it attaches to radio, like the old phones had to prevent the receiver cord from getting tangled. As it is, the cord gets stiff and tangled. But with my hearing loss and the loud buzzer, I'll put up with it.

This clock looks good but it doesn't keep accurate time and the alarm is so unreliable that I had to use a backup alarm clock. I'm not a heavy sleeper and the alarm is so faint that it would be super easy to sleep right through it. No way could that be normal functionality. Also, I ordered black and got a white clock, which was OK. The battery is also dead.

I like that it wakes me up every morning. I don't like that the battery doesn't work in the alarm, never did. I thought it came with a dead battery and after I replaced it, still not working. For a small alarm it is loud and clear.

The orange LED display is wonderful, and so easy on the eyes! The dimming button for the LED has 3 levels. I keep it on the lowest, dimmest level. I find it difficult to fall asleep with a bright green LED display beside my bed ... but I can fall sleep with this clock's dim, orange LED display. The volume and station controls are analog and the dials move smoothly. The sound quality is good. I find the buttons on the top of the clock radio kind of odd. I mean, you turn the radio on with one button and turn it off with a different button. What? But all the buttons work well. I have two of these clock radios and they both gain about one minute per month. I find that annoying and why I give the product only 4 stars. I mean, why does my microwave oven have a more accurate clock than these Sony clock radios? C'mon, Sony, that's not acceptable. I do recommend this product if you have difficulty sleeping with a bright green LED display beside your bed. However, if having a clock radio that keeps super accurate time is important to you then you might want to give this product a pass.

This Sony cube may look interesting and it certainly works as advertised, but it is not up to the quality expected from Sony at this price. The off/alarm/radio switch feels cheap and the detents are indistinct which means it's not easy to set by feel alone. Some switches respond slowly, e.g., press the tiny square radio button then wait a couple of seconds for the radio to actually turn on - not long really, but in practice you initially end up pressing the button again because the response is just slow enough to make you think you missed the button. The radio tuning wheel moves roughly. No volume control or level switch for the alarm buzzer. Check the time setting once every couple of weeks - the clock runs a bit fast, gaining a couple of minutes every few weeks which is terrible performance. Using the cube as a small, background radio is truly awful - tiny and slightly distorted - because the single internal speaker may be the worst one that Sony has ever used in an alarm clock/radio.
