Works amazing, made my cook every efficient and less strain in my unit. After I did a 140° cook and after 3 hours with unit off it was still at 130°F. Now I need a sleeve for my other containers

Does what it's supposed to do.... and better then I thought it would. I attempted a sous vide insulator from a leftover foam block cooler, and it worked great. The problem with it is that a 48 hour sous vide is long enough for the water will sweat through the foam, as that stuff is porous. I thought about spraying the outside with Flex-Seal, and I may do that again as an experiment.This neoprene wrap does a great job of retaining heat inside the standard Rubbermaid 12 Qt. water bath bucket. You will feel the outside as warm to the touch, so there is some loss to the outside air, but if you dip you finger between the bucket and the neoprene you will feel a MASSIVE difference. The cut and fit to the bucket does make it feel as though it's too small, but anyone who's ever worn a wetsuit knows that this goes with the territory with neoprene. It has holes to accomodate the bucket hand holds and this is generally how the thing stays on. It's stitched together in such a way the the four bottom corners are open, but from a surface area perspective, this is a minimal amount of overall surface area.Be sure to get a lid for the Rubbermaid caontainer or all of this is, obviously, pointless. I wrap the port where the sous vide goes and cover the cover with another kitchen towel to ensure heat loss from the top is minimized.

When I decided to get into sous vide, I asked a "sous vide king" friend to give me product recommendations. This sleeve was one of them, and he was right. It fits the Rubbermaid 12 qt bucket perfectly, and the sleeve helps keep the warmth in the water, not in your kitchen.I also recommend getting a cover for the bucket that fits your sous vide device (mine is the Anova Nano), for similar reasons - it keeps the warmth in the water, and also can help keep the water clean if you want to reuse it (as I did, I was camping and water was limited).

This looks great on my black quartz counters if only the lid were not such a LOUD COLOR! With the combination of the sleeve and the lid made for my Joule I can do lengthy cooks even more than 24 hours and never worry about needing to add water to my cook. The sleeve makes a tremendous difference in keeping the temp steady. Before the sleeve the temp would fluctuate up to 3 degrees at times due to various conditions. I have since purchased a second sleeve as I often have two cooks going at the same time. I am so happy I found this wonderful product. If I can persuade my friends to start cooking Sous Vide I will buy them each a sleeve as a getting started gift. Well worth the price.

This neoprene sleeve is the perfect addition to your Rubbermaid sous vide 16 quart container. Its a very snug fit around the container which is important and is very well constructed. I don't have a direct energy usage comparison of the same container without the sleeve, but the fact that when cooking with 165 degrees which is very hot, the outside surface of he sleeved contain merely feels warm to the touch. At some point I will do a controlled energy comparison but I was so excited to begin sous vide cooking that I just jumped right into it. I can tell you I've now cooked 11 different proteins, 1 veggie and 2 protein reheats with a heater/circulator on time of 86 hours total. I plug into a Kill A Watt consumption meter every time and for those 86 hours I've used 13.68 kwh total including heatup times. The meats have all been delicious as one would expect with sous vide cooking. The sleeve looks attractive on the container and can be machine washed when necessary. I'm pretty sure I'm getting significant energy savings using this SO-VIDA container sleeve and would encourage users to purchase the real deal--not a cheap imitation!

This is so cute and works great! I did read reviews about countertops getting stained so I keep mine on the stove top to be safe. Looks amazing too ;)

This sleeve fits the container well. The particular copy that I got doesn't quite go up to the top of the container as shown in the picture but I find that it works well with the lid I have to have a small gap at the top.I took off 1 star because the product description states that it will protect your counter. I had some slight browning on my counter top from an extended cooking session when making pork shoulder. I have gone back to putting a 1/2" trivet under the container to ensure that there is no further interaction with my counter surface.As far as effectiveness, the product works great! It keeps the heat in and makes the outside of the container safer for kids in the kitchen.

Read the many reviews for this product and the expected result was that the insulator would fit. It does (easy to apply and fit) and seems to ensure that whatever surface it is placed on, it won't transfer heat from the Rubbermaid container resulting in heat damage. I've only ever had it on a granite surface for 3-4 hours max so not sure what would happen 24+ hours.I'm glad I have the product. 4 Stars only as it's pricey for what it actually is and I did not find an alternative. I believe anyone purchasing it will not be disappointed though. Shipping on time as well.
