I have never owned a sous vide immersion cooker before. This has been a learning experience for me but a pleasant one! I only recently learned about immersion cooking from a friend. She made a delicious pork loin with hers so I really wanted to try it. The Panalchef immersion cooker looks sleek. It is a bit on the large side but since this is the only one I've ever owned it isn't like I can compare it to something else. I have a very large stock pot that I was able to use that accommodated the size of the cooker plus my meat. The unit itself is easy to use. The digital display is easy to read. The first meal that I tried with it was pork chops. Traditional cooking methods have always resulted in dry chops in the past for me. However, I could not believe the moist chops I got by using this! I seared them in a hot cast iron skillet at the end. I also used a vacuum sealer before immersing the chops. This immersion cooker is built well.

First off this is a beautiful and sleek looking design !I’m addicted to cooking shows and I recently saw one of these used on tv and when I saw it on Amazon the same night I knew I had to order it and give it a try ! I’m so glad I did because I didn’t know I’d been missing this in my life ! I honestly had no clue how much till it arrived and I was able to use it !It’s got a great design that allows me to hold it with one hand while using it and make sure the pot doesn’t get knocked over causing burns ! The temperature stays nice and even too ! Then when I was don’t it was very easy to wash up , dry and store ! But the best part was the smell and taste of the food when I was done. It really made a difference to how it turned out. Don’t know how but it does and even my family commented and asked what I did different . Lmao . I told them the recipe is the same I’ve always made ( didn’t tell them I used this ) and they insisted I must of used / altered the recipe some ! I finally told them I used this and they still were in disbelief that something like this could change the outcome of the taste !This is more expensive then I expected it to be but it brings the “ you get what you pay for “ to the point and shows just how that expression came to fruition ! I will be recommending this to everyone who asks and hoping they order it too !

First- the good. Yes. It works well and maintains temperature pretty much flawlessly. The controls are pretty easy to use and understand. Heats relatively quickly. Circulates a good amount of water.The not so good- It just feels cheap. The plastic clamp is awful and I am afraid this will not last long. It is HUGE compared to other units I own from another manufacturer that are 1/3 the price. I have almost always used an 8qt stainless pot to sous vide steaks, chops, sides, etc. This unit will not work with the biggest cooking vessel I own. Instead, I have to use a small plastic cooler to make this work until I can get a more appropriate vessel. It literally is that big- so if you're accustomed to using an InstantPot immersion circulator- you're in for a shock.Bottom line, it works well- but I am leery of the clamp and the long-term reliability of this item because it just screams cheap in many ways. At close to $400 I would expect a better overall presentation from top to bottom.

Sous Vide is the discipline of cooking foods under water at lower temperature and often under mild vacuum--although some say the vacuum is not always necessary. It is the watery equivalent of smoking--low and slow. The taste results and tenderness can be very rewarding however.The process is really quite simple--heat up some water (in a pot, a bath, a container or a bucket--it isn't critical) and maintain the temperature precisely until your cook is through. Having the right immersion heater is really important for food safety and achieving good results. You need power to bring the cook up to temp and precision to maintain it at the right temp for the correct time.This well designed machine fills the bill.The nice thing about cooking with this is that you really don't need to ue the stove or oven (until you are ready to brown or char) since this will turn almost any sturdy vessel into your cook pot. You just need to be near an outlet.I found using this intuitive and simple. There are plenty of recipes for sous vide on the internet and many sous vide cookbooks which provide helpful tips for doing it well. This machine has all of the capabilities that you will need to complete nearly any sous vide cook with panache (a french word for 'style') and is much more satisfying to use than inexpensive, low powered models that are ubiquitous but ultimately frustrating.Worthwhile.
