Packaged well, no indentations or tears in box that the two combo rod/reels came in ........ but inside was only one complete combo. The other had rod and reel combo was missing entire thinner rod piece. (rod came in two pieces) Now have to go thru the time consuming return/refund process. These rod and reel combo's are great .... when complete.

This is a very comfortable router. Real shut up is the cash feels good in your hands. Nice quality shut up. I am very happy with it so far after you took it twice on the river.

Bought these after reading some online reviews and articles. Thought it was great that they were 28 down from 44 and now down to 18. I can see why, they are junk. I ordered two and when they came in one had the handle snapped off and the first guide smashed. This did not happen in shipping, the box was fine and the other piece of the handle was not in the box. Which means they were shipped this way. The second rod had the rubber tip that hold the rod together torn off. Asked for replacements which were sent promptly. The second set the rods had small grooves all the way down them as if they weren't made right and one had a guide that was loose in its wrapping as well as the end of the rod was bent. To top it off when packed the box wasnt even sealed and one of the rod ends were wrapped in the packing tape.So dont waste you money on these rods they are either factory rejects or the people selling them dont give a crap about what they sell.

If you are looking for a micro-light fishing rod and reel and don't want to spend a lot or have a kid who would tear them up I recommend these. I totally forgot about South Bend fishing before I saw these. They are very nice and inexpensive. One note, if you have a Dunham's Sports near you go there and get them for $5-6 dollars less.

For the price, I m not sure you can find a better combo.Rod: 2 piece, ultra light action. Perfect for poppers, flies and bugs. Should be able to handle a nice sized bass or crappie. Real cork grip.Reel: Convertible left/right. Smooth action, non-reversing switch. Light action with a smooth silky spin. Drag works well.Overall : If you're looking for a 2 piece travel rod, or a new "old friend" to take to the lake, you can't go wrong here.

This is the second of these rods I have purchased. The first was for my daughter because she was having some trouble casting under trees and cover with her 7 ft medium rod. This is now her go to rod and she uses it all the time. I have a slip bobber with 4LB test mono on it and it casts great. The bobber stops do not get hung up at all on the casts.I liked hers so much that I bought another one for myself. I enjoy ultra light fishing mainly for the increased casting distance. My normal rod is 7 feet and I was getting tired of constantly taking off my slip bobber to use bass lures.I use this exclusively for using lures without a bobber. It casts well and because it is small can be used anywhere. I put 15 LB braid on here and it casts well. I will eventually get a bait caster for larger lures but this works great for the .5 oz lured and smaller, which is what I use 90% of the time. It is a perfect little rod at a great price.UPDATE: I had to get a new reel after less than a year for the rod. The reel that came with it became very "jerky." I took it apart and tried oil and grease but it still was not smooth. For the price, the rod alone is worth it, but the reel didn't hold up long term. I got another inexpensive reel and use this exclusively for panfish off the shore and on my kayak. It works very well with small 1/64 oz jig heads and a float.
