used to repair an older gate that broke and is really heavy. This is sturdy enough to hold it up but can't attest to how it would do with high activity. It is hardly opened or closed every week but I would recommend!

I seriously didn't think this would hold up my wood gate on the old poles from my chain link fence.. but they are MUCH larger and heavier duty than they look! A little pricey, but does the job beautifully so far!!

Solid hinges - note, they are best for an 8x8 post or 6x6 - the screw will go right through a 4x4.

My fault. Tried to use it on a regular chain link gate which is 1.25 not 1.75 inch in diameter. Also screwed it into a 4x4 and the screws are 2" too long.All my fault. Lesson learned.

When my cow got frisky and broke the hinge on my livestock gate, I searched for the correct size hinge lag combo and had difficulty finding it in the farm supply stores. The cow actually broke the welded hinge on the bottom of the gate. So, when I did find the correct size, it was over twice as expensive as it was here on Amazon. I ordered and the new hinge lag combo arrived on time and I installed it about 6 months ago. Still holding up well. It is installed in the bottom position of the gate too. I would recommend this for those applications where you can't just weld a new one on your gate.
