I picked this up mostly because it was on sale, and who couldn't use more supplies? Especially since I wanted to try the diazo printing stuff that came with it. Unfortunately the diazo was really old and I had to really work to save it, a beginner might not be successful, or even know that it wouldn't work as is.After searching, I found out this is a common occurance with Speedball, so something to be aware of if you go that route.Secondly, I believe the Speedball boxes are meant to be packed tightly together in shipping, so when they are shipped through the mail on their own, when being packed inside another box (looking at you Amazon), they do need additional packing, which Amazon did not supply, thus causing the Speedball box to bounce about inside of the Amazon box. Now, the Speedball box remained sealed, however the contents inside got so jostled, that the yellow ink opened up and smeared on the inside contents, including one of the screens. I saved the screen, but it took a number of washes, I also lost some masking fluid, which thankfully did not get smeared on a screen. If it did, and sat like that for too long, it would be very unfortunate.

Open as a gift from my husband but the ink had spilled all over everything inside, very disappointing. I have read other reviews that said the same.

the red ink leaked, but not too bad. The Photographic remover leaked all over and stained the screens. Really bad packaging.

We are very pleased with this kit. The screens are of excellent quality and there are enough supplies to strip the screens and do several more designs. We ordered the kit for a VBS project and now anticipate many more uses. Two of us were experienced at screen printing, but not making photo emulsion screens. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The kids are thrilled with their shirts!

I bought this as a birthday present to myself and I am pretty happy with it. It is definitely a beginners kit and has everything you need to start. It is a great kit for anyone looking to teach themselves how to screen-print.

Ive bought two sets so far. Its a great starter kit. Has everything you would need to make simple screen prints on shirts or posters. Directions are a little confusing, but there are plenty of helpful videos on YouTube. Good quality.

This was a Christmas gift for my 23 year old daughter. She has never screen printed but is a professional dancer and full time adult artsy kid. She watched the DVD and within 24 hours "smudgy panda" was printed on everything she could get under the screen. Yep there was a learning curve--hence the name of the Panda but it was steep and only a few smudgy panda's were actually smudgy. I highly recommend for anyone looking for an entry into silk screening.
