This splatter guard works well, as it’s a large 12.5” diameter designed to fit larger skillets and pots, but can be used for smaller diameter round pans too. The metal handle has a small silicone cushion which acts as a heat-guard, but be careful to treat the handle as a hot surface, as there is some exposed metal on the handle with some heat transfer during use. The silicone guard has an ample slit that allows for steam to escape and also for ingredients to be inserted into the pan without having to remove the guard—I personally did not use it for this purpose, and disliked that the slit allows for a bit of splatter to exit out of the top of the pan. The materials wash up well with soapy water or in the dish washer—much better than the standard metal mesh material and unlike those, this can be cleaned thoroughly. The handle folds in for easier storage, allowing the item to lay flat and take up little space because it’s so slim. I can’t speak to how long this will last, but it appears durable, well made, and good as new after multiple uses.

I love bacon but hate getting burned when grease pops. Splatter shields are usually made of steel mesh. The problem with these is that they are difficult to clean and extended use of older screens tend to burn up or straight up light on fire. That's what you're trying to prevent! It's an inherent flaw with fine mesh screens. This silicone screen works much better. There's a smiley face portion that is cut into the silicone and a flap sits a little lower than the rest of the screen. It acts as a vent while still preventing splatter. These clean up easily and I've yet to catch one on fire. This type of material has a very high flash point. It also allows some heat to circulate. This allows the food to cook quicker. Much better design overall.

fits perfectly over my large frying pans and does an excellent job of preventing oil splatters while cooking, keeping my stovetop and countertops clean. The folding handle stays cool to the touch, making it easy to adjust while cooking, but it seems a bit flimsy and may not hold up. the screen itself is super easy to clean—just a quick rinse in the sink and it’s good as new. I like how much less mess I have to deal with now. Not sure how useful the hole to add food in is - I haven't used it al all. If you’re tired of constantly cleaning up grease splatters, I recommend this splatter screen!

Best thing about this is the hole there is to add food without getting splashed. Absolutely love it. Easy to clean. The handle folds, making it super easy to store. It also fits multiple sizes of pans. Definitely recommend.

This splatter screen is great with meat, bacon, and tomato sauce splatter. You could use a pan lid but lids don't quite let enough steam out and they take up a lot of space in the dishwasher. I like my splatter screens. They're compact, easy to clean, and you don't get that occasional tssssss as steam condenses just outside of the lid, dripping onto the heating element. This particular screen is very flat. The handle folds over so it takes up less space in storage. It's easily cleaned by the dishwasher and I don't have to worry about rust on the screen making my food taste weird. This does its job very well. I might convert to silicone splatter screens entirely because it's so much better than my old mesh ones.I'm going to finish this up by saying that if you're looking for a mesh screen to put over the vegetables that you're trying to crisp up instead of steaming, this is not for you. It's solid silicone. Your vegetables will be mushy. Stick with mesh screens or use a wok for those.

When I think of a screen, I think of a material that has holes throughout for -- e.g. light to be filtered, liquid to be strained, or steam to pass through. Imagine my surprise when this "Splatter Screen" turns out to actually be a splatter "guard" -- that is, a round pot cover that really lets nothing through because it in NOT porous at all.Granted, there is a specific area on the splatter guard where steam or grease could escape, or you could pour something into whatever is cooking; but you should be very careful of hot steam escaping through this opening -- it could burn your skin. The guard is large (as advertised); it is 13" across, so best reserved for 12 inch or larger skillets or pots. The setup handle is a little bit of a "pain" to unfold and get into position to use as a splatter guard "holder." The silicon material does make the guard fairy easy to clean up; it remains to be seen how long this material will hold up is the dishwasher, or even with manual cleaning. All in all this splatter guard is "OK." If you look around you might find something better suited to your needs.
