Attention : This adapter has 12 continuous vertical slots around the entire 3/4" shank like a gear. It is to be primarily used in only specific types of drills, namely the large spline drive rotary hammer drill units. It does not fit into SDS-Max hammers, SDS or SDS-Plus hammers, Hex shank drive hammers and other system hammers. PLEASE CHECK YOUR TOOLS VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASE.
Tips for Compatibility Checking :
If you don’t know the type of drive system of your rotary hammer drill or you are not sure if this adapter is compatible with your tool, please follow the following steps to check the compatibility of your rotary hammer drill with this adapter.
1) First check if your rotary hammer drill is using a drill bit that has the same type of shank as this adapter. If it is not spline shank that has continuous vertical slots around the entire shank like a gear, your rotary hammer drill is not a spline drive one and does not fit with this adapter.
2) If the shank of drill bit your rotary hammer drill is using is a spline type one, please check if it has 12 continuous vertical splines or slots on the shank. If the number of splines or slots is different, this adapter does not fit your rotary hammer drill.
3) If the shank of drill bit your rotary hammer drill is using has 12 splines or slots, please also check the diameter of the shank. It should be 3/4 inch of diameter with the splines, and 5/8 inch of inner diameter without the splines (measuring the diameter in slots). If the diameters are different, then this adapter is not compatible with your rotary hammer drill.
4) Please carefully check the above 3 points to make sure your rotary hammer drill is compatible with this adapter before ordering.

After purchasing I placed an SDS bit inside of it and gently used it on a soft piece of sandstone and immediately the SDS bit locked inside of it and I had to use a table vise and a hammer to release it ;The measurements were too tight . then I sandpaperd the SDS bit after I released and greased it up and made it fit perfectly and then after some light use using a flat bit to remove some tile the whole thing just basically blew apart juuuunnkkkk .

Supposed to be 3/4'', it is 5/8'' does not work on my Metabo nor DeWalt hammer drill. See the pictures aside a spline shank drill bit, you can tell the difference in size without the caliper. I took picture of diameter measurements with dial caliper to confirm how small this is. It rotates freely inside the drill chuck, not gripping at all in the splines. I returned it for refund.

So far it works great. Had a 1/2" hole that was trashing bits I was using with a cord less hammer drill as I think it couldn't get past some stones in a concrete foundation. This adapter enabled me to use my old demolition hammer drill which went thru the foundation at a rate of about 1/2" per second!I was surprised it came with no paperwork but it has a nice case.
