These are nice plates. I bought the large dinner plate to go with them, and they create a really lovely set. That said, the plates are just plates. They're a nice weight and the design is lovely. The glaze is thick and nice. The shape is... a plate. They're basic and round, and a size that's average for a salad plate (on the large side, I guess). But they don't look handmade or otherwise anything other than a machine-produced plate. These just seem way overpriced, even though they are admittedly nice.

This plate is a fine quality plate with a nice cobalt blue striped pattern. Nice looking, and could be used and would complement any other serving piece. Spode makes nice plates and entertaining pieces, and this plate is representative of their fine designs.

I don't mind paying more for dinner plates, especially when they are made by well-known and established companies. However, I expect these companies to deliver flawless plates and impeccable quality assurance processes. Sadly, this is not what I received with the salad plate I purchased. One of the stripes has an imperfection, and the plate shows what could be production marks on the back. While these flaws are acceptable in lower-priced dinnerware, I find them disappointing in a Spode plate.

Spode is a reputable company and this is a nice product. It's a little thick and heavy compared to vintage Spode, but it is dishwasher safe. The blue and white pattern is lovely and classic, and it can work with many different looks depending on which dinner and dessert plates it is paired with. It's a little pricy for a single salad plate, and I was a little disappointed to have a white production mark on the front (in one of the blue stripes) and a shallow scoop on the back (shouldn't impact its sturdiness, though). This code pattern is made in England, not China, so presumably you're contributing to living wages - hopefully!

This is a well made and very nice looking plate. It is both dishwasher and microwave safe. Feels durable but I’m not gonna test it due to risk. It is large but a rational size.
