Makes walking the 3 dogs easier when the 2 smaller ones are on the one lead with this. Had this for a great length of time, one of the dogs can be quite the puller, and many walks in the rain and this product is still in great shape.

It's simple and it works. We have two "puppies", one is about 65 lbs the other is about 140 lbs. With this on they both stay with us because one tends to anchor the other. We're happy.

Like it but a metal part a bit too heavy for my two small dogs

Love this coupler. Excellent quality product. It's completely changed the quality of our walks for the better, whether it's attached to our retractable leash or a 2-ft city lead, walking with 2 dogs is a joy for everyone.

I have 2 Labs, one about 90 lbs and the other about 70lbs. So far I'm loving the coupler; it has made walking the two of them so much easier and has turned walks from not fun to actually a pleasant experience. I've only used it 5 times so far so I can't comment on how long the coupler will hold up but it seems very sturdy and I've been using a Sporn harness for over two years that's still in great condition so the Sporn products are built to last.Something to keep in mind is that the bigger stronger dog will control how the walk goes and will be able to drag the smaller dog around. This coupler will definitely work best with the following combinations: (1) two dogs of similar size (2) two dogs of varying sizes if both are well-behaved walkers and (3) or if the stronger dog is both well-behaved and willing to keep the smaller one in line.Positives:1) Very minimal tangling, even with the dogs crossing paths constantly. The first walk my younger one got a bit wrapped up but as they get used to it the tangling issue is almost gone.2) Works just fine with the Sporn harnesses although I think it makes the dogs slightly more prone to tangling than if you just used it with normal collars.3) Sturdy construction; no issues even with two strong dogs pulling on it. Can't comment on whether the adjustable latch stays put since I always use it on the widest setting.4) Dogs keep each other moving since they are pulling on each other. If one starts to sniff in one spot for too long the other one will get bored and pull hard enough to get the slow one moving again.Negatives:1) I walk the dogs in places with wide spaces so I actually wouldn't mind if it could be made to allow even more space between the dogs. With the sporn harnesses on, the furthest they can get apart is about 8 feet.2) Not for walking drastically different sized dogs unless both are well-behaved or if the stronger one is calm enough to not drag the smaller one.Overall I highly recommend this for the right combination of dogs. I also highly recommend the Sporn harness if you have a puller; it really cuts down on how hard the dog will pull. The Sporn products are high-quality; built much better than comparable products purchased at the national pet store chains.

I bought this to use on my 8 lb Yorkie and 14 lb Jack Russell. It worked great for the first 3 times but fell apart during the fourth use. (One of the metal clasps that hooks onto the dog harness broke into 3 pieces). Neither of my dogs pull on the leash so for this coupler to break after just three (gentle) uses was very disappointing. I'm going to upgrade to the medium size version of this product. Hopefully the clasps that hook onto their harnesses will be stronger on the bigger version of it. Had this product not broken, I would have given it five stars. It made walking my dogs MUCH EASIER. If purchasing, please keep an eye on the condition of the metal clasps. I'd hate for someone's dog to escape from their leash because of this product's ability to break during use.

I got this to help manage walking two of my doggie clients at once. One is a small dog and one is a medium sized dog. Both are very active and would get their separate leashes tangled up incessantly. After one use, the dogs were walking together like pros. It took them a few tries to realize they had to work together to go sniff things sometimes and there were a couple of "stand offs" when one wanted to go in the opposite direction of the other, but overall, it was great. One nice thing, as other reviewers mentioned, is that most pulling is redistributed between the dogs themselves, vs. the person holding the leash. That actually seemed to make them more willing to work together to get to where they wanted to go. They do need to learn to wait if the other dog has to stop to pee or something. A few potty stops were rudely interrupted! : ) But I think this will happen in time and I was able to give the "wait" command a few times when I saw this about to happen and that worked well. The product itself seems to be quality, very hardy, and was adjustable to accommodate each dog's height. It's also wide enough that I could grab it near the collar to keep one dog from initiating playtime when we needed to be walking. I was worried it might cut my hand or be hard to hold onto, but it was pretty comfortable. I'll update this review if it disappoints after several uses.Minus one star because it came with minimal instructions on how to adjust it and I had to fiddle with it quite a bit at first. It also has weird "claw clamp" type hooks to attach to the dog collars vs. the standard clips. They may prove to be sturdier than the standard clips, but it's harder to do a "quick release."

The seller was Lucy A Wonder Dog. There are two sizes for these couplers: small and large. I own the small. I have a Chihuahua, and I sometimes take care of another dog. It works great for them. One dog is younger and pulls more (he is the heavier one), so I shortened his side to about 8 inches. The other dog is a couple years older and a heels (so he gets the longer end). This way the younger one can't jerk the older one around as much. It works well. The coupler swivels, which means my leash doesn't get all twisted. The alternative was to continue to walk them on 2 leashes, which would get tangled (and that was a pain, and walks were not as fun for me or them). Also, the coupler is much safer. Since I only have to manage one leash for 2 dogs, I can pick-up both dogs much easier if there is an aggressive dog loose (or, I can fend-off the aggressive dog with my other hand). And I have had to do this a few times in my neighborhood. In order to keep the dogs from getting tangled in it, I have to hold-up the leash if it is slack. Most of the time it is not slack, since the dogs are walking in front, or I have the leash shortened if they are walking beside me.I have owned this coupler by Sporn since May 2011, and I would purchase it again (but since it is so well made, I don't think I will have to buy a replacement). They nylon is sturdy and the hardware is metal (no plastic parts).
