2. Turn screw SLIGHTLY counter clockwise (left) to raise beater or clockwise (right) to lower beater
3. Make adjustment with the beater, so it just clears surface of bowl

This beater does not have the ceramic coating that my previous beater had. The ceramic coating was flaking off! Now I don't have to worry about any flakiness getting into my batter. It fits perfectly and beats like it is supposed to (without any threat of ceramic flakes coming off!!)

This fit the mixer perfectly at a fraction of the cost to buy it from the mixer manufacturer. it works just as good as the one that came with it.

I have the 6qt bowl lift stand mixer (KP26M1XSL) and the paddle fits too loosely. It clanks randomly on the side of the bowl, and yet leaves batter unmixed on the side of the bowl. Looks well made and good stainless but sadly didn't work for us.

Stainless steel is the only way to go with these blades. What came with the blender has a greyish coating that comes off on food after you put it in the dishwasher. Which I learned the hard way you are not supposed to do. And anything of this size that can’t go in the dishwasher is useless to me.

After decades of service, the plastic coating of the original beater that came with the stand mixer was peeling off so I purchased the stainless version. This beater is way more hefty than the original and sturdy. I am sure this will serve me for life. So you need to buy it only once in your life time.

Love the metal finish. Don’t have to worry about pieces of the white finish coming off in my food now. Don’t know why kitchenaid doesn’t make them this way in the first place?

A nice piece spoilt by the unpolished inner planes of the beater - hence these unpolished sides does not have the smooth gliding feel. Not sure whether this will make thorough cleaning a challenge.

The beater blade that came with my Kitchenaid is aluminum with an enamel coating. The aluminum is exposed however in the cutaway for mounting. The new (several years now) environmentally safe auto-dishwashing detergents for sale in my area corrode any exposed aluminum. My original beater blade wouldn't fit on the mount because the aluminum corrosion reduced the size of the mounting hole. I'd have to file out the hole every time we forgot to handwash the beater. I'm to old for that now! A stainless steel beater goes in the dishwasher, and lazy me gets to not have to handwash or file down my beater anymore! Yay! Maybe a bit pricey for that bit of laziness, but it was a splurge I was happy to make.Oh yeah, it fits great, works as you would expect, and cleans up great in the dishwasher. No surprises there. It is a quality piece of stainless steel made into the correct shape. It will last several lifetimes. Certainly it will outlast the Kitchenaid.
