Great ruler, I bought the steel one because I kept breaking my wooden ones. The one downside is that the edges are sharp! They pierce through my backpack and could hurt you if you aren’t careful.

I give this 5 stars for price, quality, sturdiness....it meets all three considerations completely. The grade of steel is good, and the ruler is thicker than others (twice as thick min) I have seen/used. A cork backed steel ruler doesn't hold a magnet very well, but without a cork backing, this thicker, steel ruler does hold a magnet very well. Mind you, this is a consideration of mine that others may not have. However, the thickness means less likely to bend and warp. Also the first 4 centimetres of this ruler are marked in 1/20ths increments...which is nice. The reviews I read on this product mentioned about sharp steel edges...but all four of my rulers are not sharp at all. Not even a small cut while rubbing my thumb down the edge....maybe the producer fixed that problem? At 1 inch wide, its better for tight measuring, too.

I like that they’re metal so will stick on a magnetic surface. I like that they come in individual plastic sleeves to store and transport. I like there’s a hole at one end to hang them (there’s also a corresponding hole in the plastic sleeve). I like there are centimeters and inches. I like that they measure the same as all my other rulers and measuring tapes.I’m not fond of both sides being the exact same in terms of the orientation of the centimeters and inches. It would be nice if the centimeters were on the top of one side, and the inches on the top of the other side. What I’m most unhappy with are the very sharp edges. If I were to run my finger along the long edge, I’d have an open cut.$6.99 for 2 metal rulers is an okay price but I’ll end up running sandpaper on the squared off, sharp edges to avoid potential injuries.
