If you've ever used a tofu press, this is what you'd expect. It's well made, not flimsy. It screws down easily. Like any, it takes a little getting used to so you can get the amount of water squeezed out that you want. So far I like this better than some of the newer plastic ones that try to be more automatic on the pressing. This one is much better because you can control it correctly. The size is good. The quality is good. Well worth it.

This is a very nice, all stainless tofu press, I really love that it’s a screw turning type press, my other one you have to sit something on top to weight it down. You get the stainless frame, the draining bottom plate with elevated feet, you also get a stainless top plate and a turn screw with the bar that holds it in place. There is a small tray to dump the finished tofu onto, don’t use this to drain the tofu, it is way too small and will overflow. There is a piece of cheesecloth you wet and line the mold with, then you place the curd inside the mold, wrap the cheesecloth over it and turn the key that presses the top plate down to drain it. The press works so nicely, it goes down very evenly giving equal pressure across the top and the drain holes are ample for releasing the liquid out of the bottom plate. It’s pretty perfect really. This takes 2 cups of soybeans to make a block as pictured, more if you want it taller. It’s easy to make and easy to use, just water soybeans and a coagulant that’s it. I suggest watching some videos and reading online directions. This press is excellent, highly recommend

Good product. I haven't had it long but I've already used it twice and I expect to keep it busy. There is a little bit of a learning curve to figure out how far to crank it down for different firmness levels but that is not a product defect. Its user preference. One fairly minor design weakness is that the screw that applies pressure only presses the pressure plate at one point - in the center. That allows the plate to come down unevenly. That means it can accidentally be slanted to the left or right, to the front or back, resulting in an uneven shape of the finished tofu. Adding guides to stabilize the plate would add complexity (and cost) to the product, but providing lines on the inside of the walls of the mold would be a simple way to help align the plate. That said, i would buy it again. I actually may buy another one so I can make more tofu.I recomme d it
