I bought this back in 2019 for my 2008 Honda Pilot VP. I ended up not using it, because I misdiagnosed the problem, so I just held on to it. Here we are, 2025 6 years later and this morning on the way to the gym, my car starts sputtering. I managed to get the vehicle back home and did a scan with my Blue Driver Scan Tool. The Error was code P0404 EGR Valve Circuit Range/Performance Problem. The repair on my vehicle was simple. Once done, I cleared the error code and my vehicle is back to running normally. I'll provide any updates should this change. I also plan on cleaning out my EGR ports this weekend, as this is recommended when the EGR valve is replaced.

I am super disappointed in the shipping issues with this item. Kept getting updates and then apologies for delay. Easy to install looks just like the original on the 99 Accord V6 took care of the P1491 code. Remember to take off the manifold and get those ports clear. This is a common problem on these cars.

The design improved egr valve performances.1st pix location2nd design modification smaller intake3rd don't forget to clean-out the reclaimed emissions unit. So, about a couple days after replacing EGR Valve and cleaning out the reclamation chamber, I was be-bopping down the road when all of a sudden my van sneezed and a ploom of soot popped out the exhaust pipe. So worth the time helps with starting and another mile or two in gas milage.RM Zook

2001 Honda Odyssey. Part arrived fast. Seems to be good quality. Remove plastic engine covers. Remove two NUTS (be careful they are not bolts and will easily fall) pop in this valve and replace the nuts and covers. Done. 10 minutes. I sprayed carb cleaner in the mating ports before replacing also. Check engine light is now gone after disconnecting battery and going for a nice long joy ride. Runs like new agian. While the check engine light was on, before replacing the valve, it was hesitating at times when trying to accelerate and almost felt like hard shifts at times. That's gone now. Note: the EGV arrived without the gasket. I reported this to Amazon and they have already shipped me a new one, no big deal to me.

Installed it a few weeks ago because my check engine light came on and code read that we need a EGR VALVE. So far so good and no check engine/code for EGR valve yet! It's a great product for the price!

The Check Engine light of my Honda Odyssey 2001 turned on due to DTC P0401. I cleaned the EGR port according to Honda TSB 05-26. The MIL came back on two months later. It showed DTC P1491 on my OBD-II.I followed the steps to trace the problem according to the Service Manual. It indicated that the car computer could be defective. I didn't believe it and decided to replace the EGR valve first. It has been running for another two months. So far so good.Note that the gasket comes with the unit you buy. There is no need to buy the gasket separately like I did. The ad in the Amazon page is misleading.[update on 03-12-2016]My Honda is still running great with this EGR.
