The headlight switch on my 1966 Impala failed, overheated, and melted part of the connector that plugged into it. I bought this pigtail connector, thinking that I'd be able to simply remove the existing wires with crimped spade terminals and put the old wires/terminals into the new housing. WRONG!! The old/existing terminals were 0.02" wider, and their metal retaining tabs were 0.075" longer than the new ones; so they wouldn't even fit into the new palastic housing! :-(I ended up making a diagram of the colors of all wires in the old housing, removing the wires/terminals from my old connector housing, sawing it into three pieces, and discarding the damaged section around the two center terminals. I then put the wires back into the two good pieces of the old housing, put shrink tubing over the two terminals that used to be in the damaged section, and plugged everything back together. I did end up replacing one of the old terminated wires (the brown wire) with the corresponding wire from the new connector, since the old spade terminal was pretty damaged from the overheating. Therefore, my purchase wasn't a total waste. ;-)If you plan to replace the whole connector assembly on your old GM vehicle, this is a perfect fit! Just be prepared for at least several hours of work in an awkward position under your vehicle's dash - since you'll likely be cutting, stripping, soldering, and shrink tubing each individual wire!! Also, note that this connector does NOT come with a wire/terminal installed in every position (only 5 are there out of the 8 possible); so make sure you either don't need those missing wires; or, you have an acceptable means of dealing with the missing wires that you do need. Remember: Your old wires/terminals may not fit in the new housing!!

Easy to install product. It fit perfectly into the vehicle cable we was trying to re-wire. Definitely perfect value for the money!
