The fuel regulator can leak fuel when defective.Replace this instead of the entire FI assembly.

Replaced in my 1997 Chevy Blazer with the 4.3 V6. I've never had an issue with any Standard Motor parts, so hopefully this will last longer than a year unlike the last one from Beck/Arnley that I just took out.

I am a DIY mechanic. The part is quality. It was intimidating at first glance but I don't trust some of the local mechanics to work on my 22 year old Chevy Express with a 350, especially with the wild quotes that I was getting. Get the right diagnosis and you will be on your way. Symptoms: engine has long crank especially on the second or third crank of the day. Engine runs rich and idle could be rough or when launching due to being choked by the gas spilling out of this dysfunctional regulator. Spark plugs, MAF sensor, and O2 sensors are ok. MAF sensor may have high readings as computer trying to dilute the rich fuel. Computer will show negative fuel trims because it is running rich and trying to pull back fuel dump. The key here is checking the fuel pressure at the rail. It will prime up to spec but loses pressure in less than 10 seconds. Don't go looking at the fuel pump in the back as a failing fuel pump does not make an engine run rich. If you know what you are doing, it may take you 4 hours. It took me 5 hours as I was careful not to misplace bolts and not break anything. That also include cleaning out the throttle body while you have the upper intake manifold removed. Don't forget to order gaskets for this project. Thank you to those who share videos on this.

I replaced the lower intake gaskets on my 1998 Tahoe and replaced the often leaking OEM regulator with this part while I was at it. I had no problems with fit or finish. Does the job as intended. I would recommend to any buyer.

works perfectly. also please note if your car was misfiring running badly poor fuel economy this may be the fix. our car had horrible misfiring trouble that seemed to come out of nowhere it was a very quick development from running fine to misfiring. this fixed that for us.
