My blower would only work on #3 and #4. After I installed the replacement, it worked for 5 minutes on all levels from 1 to 4. Then a puff off smoke blew out from the vent. After that the bloweer would only work on seting 2-4. The first setting (#1) was non operational. Returning the resistor unit and ordering a factory OEM unit.

Very easy install and took care of fan speed 1 & 2 that were not working. Great value and was delivered before it was expected

Perfect replacement for Chevy S-10/GMC Sonoma fan motor resistor. However, after replacing this for the second time in 6 months, it occurred to me something else had to be wrong. I checked the fan motor and found it was extremely sluggish due to years of wear, dirt/grime, and corrosion. I realized the added load from the fan motor was causing the fan resistor to overheat and repeatedly burn out. I replaced the fan motor (also available on Amazon) and haven't had problems since. I also sleep easier knowing that I'm not going to start an electrical fire in my engine bay. Do yourself a favor if you'v replaced the resistor more than once, and check the fan motor itself.Note that replacing the fan motor in these vehicles is a total pain. It requires removing/relocating a bunch of stuff just to reach the screws on the motor housing. Even with the ECU and coolant reservoir removed, you still need some extensions or small hands to reach the bottom screws.

Only the first speeds work, not the fastest.
