Firstly, it should be noted that this is a MotoRad part in a Stant box. It appears that MotoRad acquired Stant in 2021, and the less expensive brand is using the reputation of a superior brand to sell their inferior parts. Secondly, while I cannot be certain, the brass components of the thermostat were somewhat rough and exhibited black oxidation. This suggests that the part may be used, or that they are assembled with little care. Lastly, the primary purpose of this purchase was to obtain a 180-degree thermostat to replace the 205-degree one. As evidenced by the last picture, the thermostat had not opened at 194 degrees and only opened at 198 degrees, far above the advertised 180 degrees. (Thanks to another reviewer who recommended testing a thermostat in boiling water before installation!). If someone intends to purchase a MotoRad, it should be clearly advertised as such. Additionally, the quality assurance appears to be minimal, given the rough appearance and failure to operate at the specified temperature.

Perfect fit for a ram hemi, works as intended. Way better than the local parts store and cheaper!! One thing of note: make sure you burp the system THROUGHLY!! In my case it took almost an hour and about 1 1/2 gal of coolant! I cannot comment on longevity yet, I'll update that at a later time.

Put this in when I did fan delete. It has been working great. Truck warms up quick and the temp runs between 185 and 195 all the time when not towing. Gets to 210 when towing, but comes back to 195.

Came packaged well and Stant is a nice brand. OEM quality part for a great price. After installation on my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi, it took roughly 10 minutes or so in winter weather to get to operating temp (perfect 180) and opened up into the upper and lower radiator hoses. My heat wasn’t working as is usual with a bad thermostat, and after sitting running a while the heat came on perfectly and no more check engine light. Added the coolant I drained so the hoses were empty. Perfect and quick and easy fix.

Replaced the water pump on my 2013 Ram 1500 5.7 liter. Decided to replace the thermostat while was there. The OEM calls for a 203 degree thermostat but thought that was a little too hot so I viewed several YouTube videos where others had changed to a 180 degree thermostat. I decided then to purchase this one. It fit perfectly with no leaks & truck runs steadily at 185 degrees with no issues of engine lights.

Swapped the 203F thermostat on a 2012 Ram 5.7L for this 180F. Also performed a fan delete. Motor runs about 184F under normal loading and idle with 100+F outside temp in Texas. Under full load the motor has been as high as 198-200F. Gas mileage has decreased. Will update this review once I’ve changed the thermostat up to 190F just out of curiosity.

180° thermostat keeps your hemi running cooler..the stock thermostat in my 2013 Ram with 5.7Hemi is a 203° and on a hot day while sitting in traffic I would often see 220° or higher until the back up electric fan would kick on OR I would turn on the AC which turns on the back up fan..with the 180° the truck runs right at 185° and when in traffic give it that much more time to hit that peak over 220° temps.. also with the 180° from oil temp to trans temps it runs much cooler across the board.AND NO it does not set a check engine light as some people say it will, I believe you will get a check engine light if the vehicle doesn't see at least 160°
