The kit came with everything needed - there were instructions, thread, needle, Aida fabric for the front and back of the bookmark, and the pattern. The instructions had a few parts that were a bit confusing, but overall we’re easy to follow and very helpful. There are QR codes to pull up videos if needed as well. There were instructions for how to cross stitch and how to assemble the bookmark. The materials were great. I’ve had a few kits where I ran out of thread before finishing the project, but with this kit I had more than enough. I do wish I had the corresponding numbers for DMC so I could save the extra since I don’t trust my eyes to color match. The Aida was perfect as well. Nice and stiff so I didn’t even bother with a hoop. The needle is the only thing in the kit I didn’t use. After one or two passes it was clear it was too thick so I swapped it out for a thinner size that I already had.Overall, making this bookmark was so fun! The pattern was easy to follow. I made a couple adjustments as I went, and wish I had adjusted the words so they are all centered, but it still looks great! Assembling the bookmark was so satisfying. It took me a couple tries to get used to the stitch, but the instructions helped a lot. It turns out slightly different than the picture for the advertisement, but it still looks clean, cute, and polished.Overall LOVED this kit! I plan to go back and get a Harry Potter pattern to make for my sister soon!

Good project for beginners; has everything you need! Going to gift it to my Star Wars loving friend. I didn’t rate it a 5 because I didn’t see the embroidery floss numbers/names listed anywhere, so I won’t be able to buy more thread to stitch another one for myself. Which is unfortunate because the Porg is so cute!

This was my very first kit and I was very happy with it! I’m hesitant with kits because I never know what quality of product I’m getting but this was fantastic! The material was high quality, and the pattern was easy to understand. If you’re looking for a good beginner project, or a small project fora quick finish, I highly recommend these book marks.

This kit was super easy to follow and fun to do. I even got to learn a new technique and the directions were extremely clear. There was plenty of floss included in the kit, so I never worried about running out. Super cute design!

Cute cross stitch kit with easy-to-follow instructions. Love that it included finishing instructions and the thread came presorted! It was very easy to make into a bookmark with the included instructions. This would be a great project for beginners or those looking for a quick stitch!

Great design, all needed materials are included in the kit. Instructions are available, and the designer is easy to communicate with. Great for all skill levels. I altered the finishing a bit in the photo.

This was easy to read and was a fun project! I would recommend it for a more experienced beginner as the basket weave corners are a little tricky if you've never done it before.

I was asked to review this kit and I was sceptical. It arrived without fanfare but on opening the envelope I was delighted to find this compact little kit inside. Excellent instructions. Everything you need except scissors and you're good to go. This would be a perfect gift for on the go, travel, small breaks, something small between bigger projects or for your child to get stuck into. There are some technical challenges but it's all explained really well. I would encourage anyone to grab one for themselves and one for a friend.

I thought the price was a little steep at first, but the design is really well done and detailed—I hope this means whoever designed it is being compensated well. Perfect compromise between buying a gift for someone and making something from scratch. My partner is an avid reader who loves porgs so I couldn’t pass this up even though I usually hate sewing. Trust me, I’ve looked around, and this is one of the cutest porg-related items available, and making it yourself is actually fun once you get into it. Cross-stitching is simple, albeit rather slow. The instructions are a little contradictory at times—I found it helpful to Google basic cross-stitching techniques before I started, and I sewed the two pieces of fabric together BEFORE I ironed it to keep them from shrinking independently of one another. As suggested, adding a piece of paperboard (I used a bit of cereal box) in between the layers easily makes the bookmark look and feel very professional. All in all, the design is very well done, the instructions are adequate, and there’s more than enough materials to complete it. SUPER CUTE!

Great little kit in a small package. It comes with all you need and even a bit more aida cloth than need.Only concern is it isn't immediate beginner friendly. As it is just handwork not stretched on a hoop a immediate beginner may have problem with tension. It is still easy to do and good for someone who wants to make a project in a short time.Great if you wanna make something for yourself or someone else in cross stitch thats practical 👍

This was a fun first cross-stitch project. It wasn't too complex, but hard enough that finishing it felt like an accomplishment (for a first-timer). The only hiccup was the instructions for attaching the back of the bookmark and doing the stitch around the seam were very confusing. I eventually had to contact the company, who explained that there had been a misprint and the instructions were from the wrong project. They sent me new instructions and a video demonstration, which made a lot more sense. However, even those didn't show how to stitch the seam as shown in the pictures (it was similar, but quite as fancy looking). The result was fine, though. The company was very responsive to my question, and offered to send a free kit as compensation for the confusion. I would give this kit 5 stars, and the company 5 stars for customer service, but I can't really justify an overall 5 stars when the kit originally came with misprinted instructions - I'm sure there are customers out there who got misprinted instructions, just assumed they were dumb for not being able to figure it out, and either gave up or tried to follow them and failed.

This is the 2nd cross stitch I've ever done and I made it for my husband for Christmas. We'll see if he likes it, but I enjoyed working on it! Only complaint is that the instructions for it were not super clear at one point, when you are finished with the inside stitching and need to do the border. For example, it shows a closed button hole stitch, but the diagram is for just a regular button hole stitch. Easy to figure out with a Google search though. All in all, a good buy!
