The Starrett 248B extended length drive pin punch has an 8" overall length and a 3-1/2" long pin with a 3/16" diameter to push pins and rivets into or out of a workpiece. The extra-long drive pin section provides greater reach in recessed areas, which makes it suitable for machine shop and motor service work. The punch is made from hardened and tempered steel components that provide wear resistance and strength. It has a round shank, which is knurled for grip.

Pin punches are used to insert or knock out rivets and pins in assemblies. They have a metal shank on one end and a metal pin driver on the other, and are typically tapped with a hammer.

Used it to remove the roll pin on a 2018 wrx, worked super well, the length is very helpful and keeps your hand safe, still looks new after use, I’m sure it will last a while

I used this to remove the pins on my 4 piston brembo brakes for my Dodge Charger Scat Pack. It worked perfectly for popping them out but it's unfortunately a bit too long to be able to tap them in. I'm glad I added it to my tool collection though. This is very heavy and feels great in the hand.

I used this little bad boy to drive out the cross pin in my Dana 30 so I could install my aussie locker. Great durability and strength. Perfect length. Tip...use a different tool to initially drive out the cross pin, then once its broken loose, use this punch to drive it out. That way you maintain integrity of your punch and prevent mushrooming the tip. Although I think this punch could take it.

I needed an extended length pin punch for extracting the pins on the Brembo brakes on my 2016 Challenger Hellcat. I have a punch set but of course the 3/16" has a tapered pin so the taper hits the caliper before the pin is punched all the way out. Any corrosion or debris on the pin will make it difficult to remove. But with the Starrett extended length punch I can punch the pin past anything that would hold it up.The best part is the quality of this tool, the knurling is deep and clean and the pin itself is made of high quality carbon steel. This is a tool designed to take a beating (literally) and last a lifetime. The anodized handle is cool looking and the heft of the tool speaks to the quality. The deep knurling insures that you won't lose your grip working with the tool. To top it off, the price is very fair given the high quality.Definitely recommended!

I'm very satisfied with this tool. I'm using it on what is supposed to be used and the way its supposed to be used, so its doing the work its meant to do. I only gave it 4 stars because it hasn't seen enough use for me to give it 5 stars.
