Product was very easy to install. Instructions tell you exactly what to do. Had a little issue programming the black box. Got past it quickly. Works great and would highly recommend.

First off, product went in very easily and the programming took the first time. When looking at this product, I had a few questions the company was great and fast in answering. Hopefully, I can answer them for anyone looking to make this purchase. The only deviation from the included instructions are two push pins at the bottom of the trim panel. The first panel, a side panel, you pull off the side takes some doing, but start at the top of it and things become much easier! After that, there is a thin trim panel that runs vertically and has your rubber seal resting against it. You will need to take this off in order to get to the second screw for the steering wheel lower trim panel. After you remove the two screws and the two push pins, pull it loose from the bottom, it comes out easily. You can leave the panel dangling as there's ample room to work. Follow the instructions on when to plug everything in and it's all very straight forward. Of note, the one connection that mates to the OBD2 connector needs plugged in before anything plugs into the box. My advice, do this after you make the connections to the push to start button and route it under the dash. The programming part was very simple. After connecting everything and it auto flashing itself to your vehicle, you disconnect the box and bring just the box back inside. Download a program, create a log in, plug the included USB adapter in and plug it into the box. Follow a few on screen prompts, that are mirrored in the instructions and you're done! Take the little black box back outside and plug everything in. Push the start/stop button a couple times to ensure the happy green light is lit and give it a test. Then simply put your trim panel back into place, the smaller kick panel and the side panel and you're done! Whole process took less than half an hour and I took my time. Very happy, and more importantly, my wife is very happy! This is my second Start-X product with my first purchase going to years strong without error or fail. I highly recommend these guys and have done so to friends and family!

I just installed it and it works fine. I do need to go through and turn off the beeping (my jeep beeps every time I push the lock button but I know I can turn it off - just gotta dig out the manual and see how).I took off a star because it's not the best instruction wise. . . . It is described as being easy and essentially for any idiot like me who doesn't know too much about cars. Things you should know..... watch a youtube video to get started.I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee key start1) Prying off the panels is terrifying because it seems like you're breaking your vehicle. The instructions just tell you what to remove, but not how many parts to pry off or where they are... etc. Youtube helped me since I was getting stuck and thought I was gonna break it.2) To install the first wire, feel inside the dash (through the steering column) to the right and UNDER the ignition switch (where you put your key). You'll feel the wire coming from the ignition switch and if you feel just under it, you'll feel the part you need to unclip and attach the t-harness. The instructions just say to put it on but fail to really tell you where. The youtube video wasn't the most helpful either.3) After that, you'll definitely wanna watch a youtube video because again, not the most helpful instructions for car-idiots.4) When it comes time to put in the box and start the programming process...... I made it through the first 2 steps of programming... and then the next 3 steps went well... and i put the key in and it flashed green right away. Then it says to turn it to run and wait 5 seconds for it to flash green. It does have a disclaimer that it may take 10 tries at this step to get it to flash green. If it doesn't flash green, it says to go back to step 4 and repeat (put in key & it'll flash green -- turn to run and wait 5 seconds to flash green). It says to keep doing it until it flashes green on run... Well what they do NOT tell you is that when you go back to step 4, it will NOT turn green when you insert the key - it'll stay blank since it already did flash green. So yeah... I was really frustrated but kept trying. I was about to give up and it finally worked. So when you repeat steps 4-6, do not panic if it does not flash green when you insert the key into the ignition. Then you unhook it and go do the computer steps (computer steps are super easy -- but I will say that the computer app thought i had a 2017 jeep cherokee... I left it because there was no way to change it. . . . Seems to not be an issue though.Notes for using it:Doors must be closed for the autostart to work. If you autostart it and then open the door, you can NOT use the lock button to then turn it off.... you must get in and CLOSE THE DOOR and then insert your key - turn it to start & then off. Also, it says it'll shut off after 15 minutes unless you get in and put the key in to start. It can take longer than that to warm up here but that's ok.I am happy that it goes both ways (on and off) verses just turning on like some others I've seen. Also a nice feature to have it auto-off after after 15 minutes which should help with possible theft issues....All in all, I cut my knuckle and got really frustrated during install, but I did it myself - with minor moral support over the phone from my dad (a mechanic). I did know a few things ahead of time - like the gist of how to remove the panels and where the computer plugs in etc. So a little background knowledge IS helpful. When in doubt, check youtube - I looked at a video of someone installing a different type of starter but I used the video to see where to plug in the wires so it was still very helpful.I would buy this product again & would recommend it to others. The only reason I took off a star is because the instructions made it a bit difficult with a few minor things left out.
