Staub builds on this tradition with our enameled cast iron cookware. Black Matte enamel inside and cooking surface creates a culinary advantage for better browning, braising, and roasting. Colorful enamel outside adds flare to your kitchen and table. Safe for use on all types of heat sources, including gas, electric, and induction, and oven safe up to 500F. Chip resistant and dishwasher safe. Made in France.

Unlike cast iron you can soak this to get it clean.

Love everything Staub makes. Can't go wrong with it. I especially love the grenadine color. It's costly but worth it.

We love cast iron and have cooked with it for years - a mix of older WagnerWare, Lodge and enameled Staub. This grill pan has been a dream. It heats evenly, has ample easy to grasp handles, and cleans up without a lot of effort. I was rather amazed since I am accustomed to following several steps in cleaning/storing my regular cast iron grill pan - it has always been a chore despite being rather non-stick at this point in its journey. This Staub grill pan has been used multiple times in the month we have had it but you would think that we just took it out of the box it came in. I do lightly oil the surface with olive oil prior to cooking, whether it is meat or veggies. After use we put the cooled down pan in the sink with some hot water and dish detergent while we eat and chat; afterwards it is generally a quick swish or two and it is done. The "teeth" on the Lodge plastic scraper do not fit in its grooves, but the scraper can be turned on its side to run down through them and does help if something really crusty has been cooked. The Staub grill pan is on the smaller side but, depending on what you are preparing, it is adequate for two (possibly three not overly hungry) people. Very satisfied!

Size is perfect for up to 4 beef filets and my dome lid fits perfectly to help seal in the juices. A splatter screen also works great. Matches our Staub Dutch Oven, also in Grenadine. Legendary Quality from the French manufacturer.

I love the way this pan grills steak, fajitas and vegetables. Be sure to season it well first or things will stick and be hard to clean off. The Lodge cleaning tools don’t fit the groves, but can be helpful in cleaning.

Amazon. You did it again! 5 star quality, but you loose stars for shipping! Cast iron CAN BREAK people! So mailing my product just in it’s own box and slipped into a plastic bag! Not even a cushioned one! Just not acceptable. Thank God it did not break! Especially seeing as my mail carriers practically throw my boxes at my door! Think it through people! If it’s heavy and/or even the slightest potential to to break! PUT IT IN ANOTHER BOX!Having said that. I love staub and am looking forward to using this! I’ve been wanting a good grill pan for a while! And this one is absolutely beautiful! Just beware it is very small. It’s just me and my dad so no big deal there. But if you want something to fit a very large steak or more than 3 or 4 hamburgers go with the 12 inch. ;-)

So far, we've used this several time to grill fish on an LP grill. We heat the grill to 500 degF with the Staub inside the grill. We coat the Staub with peanut oil (high smoke point) before grilling. With this process, we (1) get great grilling without losing the fish into the grill, (2) get consistent grill temperature, as cast iron holds heat, and (3) easy cleanup due to using peanut oil. Soak the Staub for a while while filled with water, and the fish residue comes off right away.

First time making steak they stuck a bit and did not get the grill lines I was looking for.I believe I did not let it heat up enough first. I know I will get better with practice.Clean up is easy.Lovely grill pan. Well worth the investment.

Let me start by saying I have received nada in return for this review.I have two grill pans one from Le’ whatever and now this beautiful matte black Staub. I love this grill pan above all others because it actually fits on the biggest round burner of my glass top, it distributes heat evenly, leaves great grill marks, and because the little booklet included gave instruction on how to go about using for the first time. My Le’ whatever came in a box with zero instructions and everything stuck to it. The Staub after reading the instructions and lightly seasoning has been easy to clean. There was one thing I didn’t expect and wasn’t in the description, the bottom of my grill pan is green.
