If you’ve driven stick for years like I have, and have tried driving modern cars you know they’ve been gimped for simps. The oem spring and perch do not have a linear feel. You get heavier, soft, heavier feel in the pedal travel. It is really inconsistent and makes it feel like the engagement point moves because of this. The Steeda setup gives you a consistent linear push and throw of the pedal. Every shift feels good vs the crap shoot you get with the oem one. The pedal is heavier, but way better feeling. And smooth af now. Do yourself a favor and just buy it. It took me literally less than a minute to swap it.Push the clutch in, grab the spring with needle nose vise grips and clamp them, then slide the assembly off the clutch post. Take the new one and throw a little white lithium grease on the slide and either end. Push the clutch back in all the way. Put the top part of the Steeda perch in and then compress the spring/perch slightly and then the bottom slides right onto the post. And done.Just Buy It, it works and should’ve came factory with this

Returned it once I had it in my hand. No need to pay more for a new perch, the original one in my 2023 Mach 1 is very similar. I did buy a replacement spring. Much more economical.

The hardest part is getting the stock unit out w/ out breaking it. Best paired with a good performance aftermarket clutch.

I purchased this for my 2019 GT350 after watching and reading several reviews. Not disappointed. This was a gray value. The clutch pedal had a much improved and more consistent feel. Well worth the cost.

Tip, get locking pliers to help remove the stock spring and install this one.The stock spring in my Mustang was way too strong and this one was recommended as going without a spring can cause excess wear.I was hoping to get a little more clutch feel after the change, but it's still a noticeable difference. Maybe not worth the price for whole kit when the spring is much cheaper on its own.

The pedal effort is higher now but that numb feeling is gone, and you can feel the friction point much better. It took me a few days to get used to the higher effort but it is so much easier to get started smoothly when you can feel what the clutch is doing. No real difference upshifting or downshifting on the track. A big difference in normal driving on the street.

I rarely write reviews, but am compelled to write one in this case. Why Ford decided to use a dual return springs is beyond me. The Ford set up really makes smooth shifting more difficult. Replacing the factory springs with the Steeda spring makes clutch take up linear, and therefore it is much easier to have a smooth shift. Replacement is simple. Look for the video showing a no tool removal of the old springs as well as the new spring installation. I agree with another one of the reviewers that there is no reason to replace the perch, however, the replacement appears to be sturdier.
