The gaurdz work for there intended purpose against rays.The reason for only 4 stars is there isnt a left and right,both gaurdz are made the same which makes it more difficult to put on.

love them I wade fish a lot in stingray infested waters , that's where the redfish like to hang out . I cannot comment on durability as I have only used them 3 times ,very comfortable .

I have used these several times now and they seem to be holding up well. Fortunately I have not had to find out if they actually do their job! But the peace of mind is worth the price. I have wallered in knee deep mud and they did not ride up, which is what I liked about these over others. They also acted as a great “gravel guard” keeping rocks, mud and oyster shell out of my wading boots. My only dislike is that they seem to be made at two different times on two different sewing machines in that the surge (or overlock?) stitch is completely different on each one. One is nice and tight with more stitches per inch and the other not so. But I figured as long as they both hold up I’m fine. And you can’t even tell when they are covered in mud!

All around top-shelf product. These are my second pair because the first were so impressive. My last pair have lasted three years and still in great shape!
