The description that this clock takes a AA battery is wrong. It takes a AAA battery. My wife and I remodeled our bathroom so this clock is perfect for a bathroom shelf. I have a lot of battery powered quartz clocks in the house. So regardless every time it's daylight savings time. I change all the batteries. I keep all my fresh batteries in the refrigerator so they last longer. Wenever I go grocery shopping. I buy Duracell batteries at my local BJ's. This clock works as easly as any other quartz clock and is inexpensive. Very easy to maintain. I have a Howard Miller Mantel Clock that I have to wind every three days. I take that clock to a clock shop every two years to get cleaned and oiled. They charge me $250.00 to have it cleaned and oiled. A quartz clock will last for years if you rember to change the battery.

The first one is working so well and is the perfect non-intrusive size so I bought a second one for another room. It performs as it should and it is quiet (should that be of importance to you.). I think you'll be very pleased with this beautiful clock.
