This is a really nice looking unit. I like that it has a space on one side for shoes and a space on another side for something taller like a purse. Or even boots. I have been wanting something that is enclosed for our shoes, but the taller shoe racks just don’t fit in our space because we hang our coats above it. This works really well because it isn’t tall enough to interfere with the coats that are hanging but it’s nice to be able to have a spot where my daughter can sit and put her shoes on before going out the door. I wish the purse space was a little bit deeper, but that would just make the entire unit deeper too. My purse doesn’t fit very well in the purse space, but maybe that just means I need to get a smaller purse. I think it’s wide enough, and wouldn’t want it wider, so just note that the space is big enough for a medium sized purse, but probably not a large one. I do like how easy it is to put things on top of it though. My daughter puts her backpack on top of it when she gets home, and I don’t know why this feels a little bit cleaner, but it definitely feels cleaner than when she would just dump it in a basket.It’s sturdy, though it’s not a solid wood piece of furniture. My only complaint about the whole thing is that the pieces were not all numbered. The directions are fine, but since the pieces were not all numbered, it was a huge pain to put together. Some of the pieces had stickers on them, but other pieces did not. I think if all of them had been numbered, this would be a very quick build, but since they weren’t, it was relatively frustrating. Still, that might just be an issue with my item, and not with all of them.Overall, I’m pleased with it now that it is put together.

This chest turned out looking OK, but assembly was a challenge.The chest arrived in a reasonable amount of time. It was packed well with no damage.Assembly wasn't smooth. The pieces are labeled, as are the hardware and fasteners. One problem is the instructions are so small that it's difficult to determine exactly what to do, leading to some trial and error.First, the dowel holes just didn't line up when attaching the sides to the front and back. The two screws and one dowel line up, but the second dowel is at least 1/8 inch off. I tried forcing it, but that resulted in the pieces not lining up well. I had to get a drill and route out the hole laterally so the dowel would line up better. This was true on both of the end pieces, even when we switched them out.Due to the small instructions, we placed the two sides opposite their correct position, so the support arm holes were in the wrong place. We had to take it back apart and switch the sides.The material is particle board, so extreme care must be taken to avoid stripping the screws. Don't use a drill and don't over tighten and it will work out OK, but I still stripped out a couple of the holes and had to use a toothpick to sure it up.Once assembled, the piece looks pretty good. I feel fairly comfortable sitting on it (200 lbs). However, the floor of the interior is a very thin piece with only one support in the middle. It's not going to hold anything too heavy. Best suited for perhaps pillows and blankets or similar light weight things.For the price, I think the unit should be a bit more substantial and easier to assemble. It is an fairly nice looking unit once assembled. 3 stars.

This is neither sturdy , nor usable for me .. I couldn’t even assemble it because of misplaced holes for screws that would attach the door .. I am now left with trash in my living room without knowing what to do with it .. what a waste of money

The item met my expectations. All of the parts were marked to match the instructions. The instructions were mostly clear. The bench is sturdy and comfortable. I can store about 5 pairs of adult sneakers and 1 tall boot. Looks great!!!

This is a good solid storage bench. It looks nice, it's sturdy, and the doors work well. They had the decency to ship a few extra pieces of hardware to make sure there were no shortages, so that was good. Lost 1 star because the directions are just awful, and it was really difficult to put together. It's best to have a session with a couples counselor right after finishing assembly of this, but once it was finished, it's a good piece of furniture.
