We purchased several of these for our offices. Can remove and add layers to decide how big you want each of them. Would be better if it was easier to get the labels into the shelf.

I absolutely love my literature organizer. I searched for months to find an organizer that was not made of cardboard and would come apart after one too many hands in and out of the boxes. Luckily, I stumbled upon this great find from Storex.Teachers know that getting papers back to students can be a tedius task, as can just organizing handouts. I personally use this piece as a mailbox for my students (I assign student numbers) and they go and get their graded work from the compartments. It works perfectly and saves me a good amount of precious teaching time. What was an unexpected delight was how easily I put the organizer together. The pieces literally lay on top of each other and I was all done and ready to go. It was easy to transport and put right on my table. My only concern now is how I can find a few extra shelves to expand it because I love it so much and need just a few more pieces. I highly recommend this one for any teachers, but it would also be good for offices.

I use these in my classroom as student mail boxes for returned assignments and papers that go home. My 6th grade students love sorting the mail. It is a fun reward for students who finish early, and now I don't have to think about this task at all. These are expensive, but very durable. I did a lot of comparing before investing (I had to buy 3 sets, so the cost was over $150). I wanted something durable. It looked like I would have to replace the cardboard ones every year or two. I considered the wooden ones, and then thought about how heavy they would be to move around. These are sturdy and light weight. Plus each row comes apart, so they can be customized to fit the height you need. I stacked my 3 sets one on top of another. The only drawback is the paper labels and plastic covers for them. I am using them now, but they won't last. The plastic covers keep popping off. Next year, I will just use my label maker to place names. This is a minor issue, but for the cost, it would be nice to see a better system for labels.

I purchased three of these units to use as classroom mailboxes. I have used cardboard and wood in the past. Cardboard is too flimsy, and wood too heavy. These are sturdy, light weight, and the fact that you can add rows from one unit to the next makes them very convenient! The only con was that the labels would sometimes pop out...I fixed that by cutting the same size, laminated card stock. I write on these with permanent pens and change them out as needed. They stay in the label slots much better than the ones that came with the units. Here it is 2020, (7 years later), and these are still one of the best office investments I have made. Great for a classroom, or home office.

This is being used at an office to centralize 8 1/2 x 11 files that are being worked on. Each of the compartments will hold approximately 300 sheets of paper. The utility of the unity is great, it's a solid and hard plastic that feels like it will last. The bottom of each compartment has slots (so it's not solid) but it doesn't appear to effect the quality (if anything it helps keep the trays clear of dirt collecting).Other reviews seems to focus a lot on the built in tab and cover for each compartment. We received more than 12 covers, a thin plastic piece about 2 inches by .75 inches. We quickly created a computer print out and places them in the unit. It was very easy to do and would be very easy to cut a new plastic cover if needed. If you can do any kind of simple art project the tabs and covers won't bother you at all.The reason we've put 4 stars and not 5 has to do with the shipping quality. The back and side of the brand new unit came with serious discoloring marks that looked like someone scraped the unit against something black. Additionally, one of the 4 trays was cracked in the back. It wasn't worth trying to return and we've ordered more, hoping the quality of the others is better.A note on the number of compartments! Although we haven't tried to stack these yet, the difference between 12-24 or more compartments appears to be the top piece. Each tray is 3 compartments, you can stack these compartments up until you place a top on it. Essentially, if you have 2x the 12 compartment you will actually have an additional top piece. If you buy 3 units you can stack all 12 trays (32 compartments) and you'd have two extra tops.Overall, this unit meets our needs and we like it better than buying a wood unit. This has more flexibility because you can use the number of trays (3 compartments each tray) that you need, store the remaining trays. These trays are fairly sturdy and don't appear to be easily breakable (even though I mentioned ours was cracked).

This is a sturdy organizer for your desktop. Bummed due to the insufficient numbers of labels. This was suppose to come with 12 labels and I only received 7. Now I have to go their actual website and order additional labels. It's an inconvenience and another expense. Not worth returning as I need this item right away. Also it shipped a day late.

When this unit arrived in the mail, I opened the box, and it took me under a minute to assemble it without reading the instructions. Piece of cake. You just stack the pieces on top of one another and they snap into place. The unit is extremely sturdy and seems like it will last forever. There is plenty of room to label each compartment. I used my label maker. I liked this unit so much that I bought two more, and I can snap off the top cover and stack them for a total of 36 compartments. I'm not thrilled about paying $60 for only 12 compartments, but I plan to use this thing constantly at my place of work and I think it's worth it to have something sturdy and well-made.
