About this item

  • PERFECT FINESSE RATTLEBAIT: The Strike King Bitsy Shad is the ultimate finesse-sized lipless crankbait. It is your best choice when targeting pressured bass, or when fish are focused on smaller forage. Its 3-dimensional eyes and internal, free-floating rattles catch the attention of predatory fish from long distances. The Chrome Sexy Shad color pattern is perfect for attracting a broad range of species wherever you fish
  • TRIGGER THE BITE: Emulating Strike King's Red Eyed Shad, the Bitsy Shad is built to resemble the famous shape and action of the original, but in a smaller, snack-sized package. Armed with a pair of premium size 8 treble hooks, the Bitsy Shad enjoys an excellent hook-up ratio and a high landing percentage
  • VERSATILE PRESENTATION: Anglers can present the Bitsy Jerkbait using spinning or BFS baitcasting gear. Spool up with 6- to 10-pound-test fluorocarbon or monofilament fishing line. A methodical retrieve will activate the rattle and call fish in from long distances. An occasional pause will cause the lure to slowly sink, helping to trigger aggressive strikes from following fish. Deflecting the lure off cover or bouncing it off the bottom is highly effective when dealing with negative fish
  • EXPERT DESIGN: Countless years of on-the-water experience and direct input from fishing’s most recognizable and successful professional anglers have helped Strike King develop the most effective artificial lures for bass and other predatory gamefish. An extensive field testing and product development process ensures that every Strike King lure is ready to help you catch more and bigger fish. The expanded Bitsy lineup brings high-quality baits into a Bitsy-sized profile
  • FISH WITH CONFIDENCE: When you chase bass with the Strike King Bitsy Shad, you fish with confidence because a bait designed and manufactured by the lure experts at Strike King is sure to help you catch more and bigger bass every time you hit the water

Emulating Strike King's Red Eyed Shad, the Bitsy Shad is built to resemble the famous shape and action of the original in a smaller package. This 1/8 oz. soon-to-be favorite has premium size 8 hooks, Strike King's most popular paint schemes, 3D eyes, and free-floating rattles. The Bitsy line up brings high quality baits into a Bitsy sized profile, perfect for catching all types of species in various bodies of water.

I've been adding to my lipless crank arsenal and thought I'd give the Bitsy Shad a try. Reading the bad review before my purchase, I figured for five bucks I'd try one anyway--maybe that person just got a bad one. Well, mine sucks too. This thing is cr*p--the worst lure I've ever had, and I've got over 200 lures! It flutters around like a freakin' potato chip, turns on it's side and tracks every single possible way, except how it should. Now, keep in mind, Strike King is an old company that has made good baits forever, so no way they would just shrink down the mold for their larger Red Eyed Shad lures and box 'em up without testing the pre-production lures right? It seems they did! There is NO WAY this company would have went ahead with marketing these if they had fished them beforehand, and I tried all sorts of retrieves, different cadences--even took the rear treble off at one point, trying to get this thing to track. This lure is so bad, you could literally drill a hole through your toothbrush handle, hack off an inch or two and have a better lure. Good thing it's not expensive --that is the only positive thing to say.P.S. It does look cute in the package though--if you're a lure hoarder like me you could pick one up and leave it boxed, as a sort of historical curiousity. Chances are fair it will be worth more than the purchase price someday, after it's discontinued and has become infamous as THE worst lure in fishing history.

This lure actually is trash. It doesn't vibrate in the water. It always turns to the side. This is mysecond one thinking the first was broke. Do not waste your money.

I saw some reviews that weren’t favorable, but there aren’t many BFS/Micro lures on the market, so I figured I would give it a shot. Throwing this on BFS reel, light action rod, and 6lb test felt great. I did notice that the lure didn’t seem to vibrate properly until almost at the end of the cast. That being said this is the only thing I was able to get bites on today. So it’s pretty good in my book!
