My son likes the look and feel of both the Mark 2v and Mark 2d heads. He caught, threw and scooped the ball smoothly with little to no adjustment period. After a long season of play, his 2d hasn't warped at all.My only complaint is the locking bolt, which is fidgety to install on a non-SK Metal shaft. To work, you need to drill 2 holes on opposite sides of the shaft. If the holes don't line up exactly or the shaft walls are too thick, SK's short little screw won't reach or hold the locking bolt. We tried several times, and even got a lacrosse shop to help, but the locking bolt kept coming loose. At that point, we decided to just use a regular screw and ditch the locking bolt altogether. Now, instead of the SK jewel on the front throat, you see a botched drill hole. It's only an aesthetic annoyance and doesn't affect performance; but, I hope they address the problem in a future release. We would still highly recommend SK's Mark 2 heads; but, if you don't want to pair them with SK's own shaft, then don't bother trying to get the locking bolt to work. Just use a standard screw. Unfortunately, the SK Metal shafts are not a good option for us... They are very sleek but expensive relative to other scandium shafts on the market. Plus, feather-light and non-uniform wall thickness aren't necessarily the best options for hard-hitting dpoles and lsms who like to chokeup or even cut their shafts.
