When I received the product, the first thing I did was put it in the hole at the pump output. What I found was the threads went in without being screwed in. The new hose fitting was smaller diameter than the original. I measured the new fitting and determined that it is an M10X1.25 thread. To get it to work with my pump, I stuffed the hole with cotton to prevent epoxy from plugging the pump output at the bottom of the hole and gave it a good packing down. I filled the hole with JB Weld which sets up as hard as a rock. I drilled a pilot hole in the center of the hole then widened it before drilling with the tap sized drill bit of 11/32. I removed the cotton from the bottom of the hole and tapped a new set of threads M10X1.25. The rubber washer that was supplied with the hose was too thick and didn't allow enough of the threads of the fitting to be screwed in, so I screwed it in without the washer. I then mixed up another batch of epoxy and coated the connection as can be seen in the photo. This did two things: 1. It made the connection air tight; and 2. It strengthened the connection because, as strong as JB Weld is, it wouldn't survive sideways pressure from general use without reinforcing it. The pump is functional again. Last item to do was I transferred the European stem adapter over from the old hoze. The adapter is brass and can be seen in the second photo. I am looking forward to another 20 years of service from this old, dependable, and well made pump.

It's a replacement hose and it appears sturdy and it is functional. It does have a threaded coupling that attaches it to the pump and all threaded attachment points are not the same so it will only attach to certain pumps. If you have the old hose and have a teeny tiny bit of ability you can easily just swap the threaded ends out, which is what I did and I'm completely satisfied with its performance.

The end that attaches to the tire valve is standard size. The threaded end is too small for my pump and no seller puts the thread size or brands of pumps they fit. So I learned there is no industry standard for those and I don't know by the descriptions if another one will fit. It appears to be a plot to make it easier to sell us a whole new pump.

It is October 2022. I purchased this exact hose back in the summer of 2012 to replace the original hose on my metal bicycle pump. The first hose I bought (this exact one) was very sturdy, and had been used to pump up bicycle tires, soccer balls, footballs, wheelbarrow tires, and on a few instances I used it to fill a car tire that was low, and a portable air compressor tank (those last two required probably 200-300+ pumps from the bicycle pump. It worked like a champ. I only bought a replacement because the hose got bent/cut and slowly started to leak when I was trying to pump up a bicycle tire last weekend.I just bought the exact replacement, and I expect (or hope) that it will last another 10+ years. Highly recommend this product, if you're careful with it, and don't bend or kink the hose too frequently.

This seems like a nice enough hose but it doesn't have the correct fitting to connect to my Meidai TOP pump so it's of no use to me.

As stated in the title. If you have an older MDI pump, order a large Sisca pump washer/grommet (they make two, one is 30 mm and fits if you open up the inner hole. For a new head I recommend the Jo Blow dual head. It is a close copy of the time proven Sisca head and an improvement over the original MDI head, HOWEVER, you MUST save the fitting from the bottom of the MDI hose. I know of no one making an adapter fitting that works. Fortunately, some patience and care with a razor knife and a pair of needle nose pliers, or a pair of diagonal snips or "Dikes " (please, not hate speech just a professional term for "Diagonal cutting pliers") Say "Diagonal Cutting Pliers" even once and you see how "dikes" became the popular name long before it had anything to do with alternative lifestyles, gets you the part. Any replacement hose can be shoved on lubed with spit and then secured with a small radiator clamp. So if you're trying to fix an old MDI, that's how to do it. This hose was only one piece that I kept, the rubber compression washer inside the head.I installed it on the old MDI head which I kept out of sentiment even if I chose to install a different and better head. Still, if you are trying to keep your MDI original, you could keep the rubber washer (have to grind off the rivet that holds the head together, no screw as on the MDI) the hose seems adequate, remove the attachment end and reinstall upon this hose. Now you have the old MDI head with new rubber compression washer, the old MDI attachment fitting and washer, the new hose and two radiator clamps. There are also squeeze wire clips that work well, and take up less room than the small radiator clamps, but I would use the radiator clamps or honestly just the dual head.
