Bought this toilet for my cottage and have been quite disappointed with it right from the start. Overall it is a sturdy toilet and a good concept but one very important flaw is that the urine diverter tray is much too shallow. As much urine goes back into the solids bucket as what goes into the urine jug so even if it just gets used just for sitting down and peeing both containers need to be emptied every time the toilet is emptied. Also, with the tray being so shallow it isn't practical for men to sit on as there isn't room for your "stuff" to hang without it laying against the urine tray. Obviously that's pretty gross! If not for this obvious design flaw the toilet would be awesome and I would gladly give it 5 stars. If a redesigned and improved replacement diverter were to become available I would buy it in a heart beat! For the price I paid for the toilet I think an improved replacement diverter should be provided for free but I don't see that happening.

Looks like a regular home toilet ….style is beautiful…. Fan integration for odours is perfect….i will buy more for future project. I bought for a loft at my home that needed a toilet but now septic drainage. It is the best alternative

I love the product. I received the product in a timely manner. When I went to install it. The fan would not turn on. I took a look at the fan and found that the two wires that go to the plug were soldiered together. I called the manufacturer just to get a voice-mail. I left a massage and still have not gotten a call back. I had to buy a new fan and plug, and had to repair it at my own cost.

I converted an old RV to a tiny home, and changed to this toilet eliminating the holding tank. FIVE Stars for aesthetic contemporary design, it looks great, and the outside is so much easier to clean than any other toilets, due to the clean lines design. Due to its size, there was not enough room to attached it with the provided hardware, I would have needed a special tool to get in between. Reading other reviews, I don’t need to scoot forward to use the wet tank and dry tank simultaneously. There are several function improvements needed.1.The strap for pulling the wet tank out, should not be fabric, it is unhygienic and not really cleanable, it should be like a plastic handle on a suitcase that folds down.2.The wet tank should have a lid for transporting it, so it doesn’t spill if very full.3.There should be a tiny glass window on the top front outside on the toilet, so you can see that the wet tank is full.4.Placing the vent a bit higher would work better, or simply making the black can a bit lower so the top lines up with the bottom of the vent, would function much better, especially if you use bags.5.The slight texture of the plastic toilet seat, traps body oils, and if you don’t look closely it gets dirty and embedded, even after cleaning it regularly. I tried vim and scratch pads, but is difficult to remove, and I don’t want to damage it. The surface of the toilet seat should be smooth for hygienic cleaning.6.At the front of the toilet lid, perhaps a closed design, a notch of some sorts, to put your finger in to lift the lid.I could use some tips on how to remove sediments from the wet tank that stick to the bottom and sides. With the Above suggested improvements, I would give it a 5 star rating, but since it lacks some practical improvements, will only give it 3 Stars. However, the company services deserve 5 stars.

Heavy duty and easy to use. I place a garbage bag in the receptacle + peat and then throw away when full. The only thing I’d change is having a way to close off the solids container and a way to run the fan on a rechargeable battery.

I am very unhappy with my sun mar gtg for countless reasonsThere is no "trap door", so pee literally gets everywhere and into the solid waste bin every single time (without fail), which compromises the separation of solid and liquid waste. I have tried every angle and I have had to pee, stop, pee, stop (and it still gets into the solid waste bin!!!). I end up needing to keep peeing because I can't just sit and pee normally. I always feel like i haven't had a proper pee because i need to be overly attentive. This makes this product frustrating to use and unusable. I feel like i just completely wasted $700 (I am on a budget and needed a composting toilet for overall cost savings) and I feel cheated and as if I flushed my money down the drain. This product is $700 and doesn't even come with a vent hose or a trap door to properly separate liquid and solid waste (which is 100% necessary for a composting toilet to function). No ergonomic seat, lid doesn't have seal or gasket to reduce smell of any fumes (urine and solid waste). The internal fan wires are extremely fragile and external power cable is about 20 ft too short. It needs to be a 3 point bracket system (for mounting) as the 2 bracket system that is currently used creates a seesaw effect. The lid should have a slow closing lid (it cost $20 at Walmart for a slow closing ergonomic seat). The pee jar should come with a lid that is attached to the bottle for fume aversion when emptying. The handle of the pee jar gets pee droplets on it because of poor design. The bins that catch the liquid and solid waste should be form fitting, not just plastic cuts (in order to properly catch waste). The toilet should come with a wire harness so that it can be hard wired. The fan should have an on and off switch built into the power cord or on the toilet. The slope on the pee area needs to be sloping down more in order to direct the pee. The fan should be and could be much bigger and powerful, rather than a $5 computer fan. These small tweaks and changes are completely reasonable for the company to make due to the price of the product and its functionality. This product WILL not work due to its poor design. I want a full refund, return this product, and buy a product that actually works. Sun Mar just robbed me!!!

First of all, this is NOT a composting toilet of any kind! This is a bottle and a waste can in a bucket. For $700+ !!! How is this a $700 bucket? Get a $3.00 five gallon bucket. Put a Luggable Loo seat on it and line it with some flexbags nested inside of some ziplocks. $35.00-40.00 investment . . . including the bags. If you want to separate liquid from solids . . . get two of them. Or, put your bag assembly inside the luggable loo for solids, fold the bag inside the ziplock, and put both in another bag (i.e., Walmart bag) and dump in the trash. Pee in the bucket and pour it out on the ground, or down a nearby public toilet. Clean the bucket and have several flexbags inside of ziplock assemblies ready for the next time. loop the flexbag over the outside lip of the bucket, put the seat back on. Voila!!! Fast, simple, clean, and very inexpensive. If you want to get expensive about it, buy an Air Head or a Nature's Head, and the peat and/or cocoanut shreds to go with it. You will still not have anything wildly different that the Luggable Loo.

For starters, this toilet is extremely well built. Even so, $619 seems a little steep for what amounts to a bucket with a toilet seat. And although it is marketed for RV use, you better pay particular attention to the dimensions of this toilet because it is by no means a compact toilet. In fact, minus a water tank, the Sun-Mar toilet is actually larger than a standard home toilet. And lastly, should this toilet not suit your needs for any reason, know that you CANNOT return or exchange this toilet. So choose wisely. With this said, I wish Sun -Mar would make a smaller version that's at a more reasonable price point because all in all this is really an awesome toilet otherwise.

I love the style. The material is porous and difficult to keep clean. I’m satisfied with the product but it’s not really worth the price.
